Stardust Event - 2019

Space Troopers – ‘Stardust Culminating Event’ The school-wide theme ‘Space Troopers’ culminated with an event- the ‘Stardust: To Infinity and Beyond’ which was organised by the students and staff members with lot of enthusiasm within the school premises on 31 August,2019. The event took students, teachers and parents on a journey to space where they explored the mysterious and fascinating components of the universe.It unwrapped a platform of knowledge and fun.

Independence Day Celebration and Investiture Ceremony 2019-2020

Independence Day celebration and Investiture Ceremony were held with great zeal and dignity at Podar International School, Kalkere on 15th August, 2019.

The programme commenced with the hoisting of the Indian tricoloured flag by the Principal of the school, Mrs. Jayalakshmi.

The students enthusiastically participated in the Independence day celebration by singing melodious songs, making human pyramids, performing skit and dancing to the tunes of patriotic songs.

During the Investiture ceremony, the newly elected school council for the academic year 2019-20 donned the mantle of responsibility and pledged to dispense their duties to the best of their abilities and abide by rules and regulations of the school. The Principal presented the badges and colours to the council members.

Felicitation of the employees with Loyalty certificates for completing a milestone of 5 years with Podar Education Network was also a part of the celebration.

The programme culminated with the vote of thanks and sweets distribution.

Jumpstart - Space Troopers: A Hitchhike through the Mysterious Universe - 2019

On 30th July, 2019, the jumpstart activity under the theme Space Troopers: A Hitchhike through the Mysterious Universe was conducted at Podar International School, Kalkere. It immersed the students into the theme without directly telling them what it is all about. This activity helped in building curiosity about Universe and its mysteries. All students from Grade I to Grade VII participated with great interest and enthusiasm.

Field Trip 'Mystical Rainforest' - 2019

As a part of IE theme a field trip to HRBR Park, Banaswadi was organised by Podar International School, Kalkere on 22nd June 2019. Students from Grade 1 to 7 got an opportunity to study about various types of plants, trees, flowers and birds through their personal experience. Teachers helped the students to relate it with the rainforests.

International Yoga Day - 2019

International Yoga Day was celebrated with great zeal and energy in Podar International School, Kalkere on 21st June 2019. Students performed various Asanas under the guidance of their yoga instructor. The benefits of yoga were also explained to the students.

Workshop on Cyber Safety - 2019

A cyber safety workshop was conducted for students of Grade V to VII and an awareness programme for teachers at Podar International School, Kalkere on 14th June 2019. The Podar Innovation Center (PIC) team members, Mr. Hardik Kakkad and M/s. Niloufer created awareness among the students about the advantages and disadvantages of technology focusing on the fact that technology must be effectively used. They discussed about various cybercrimes like Camera hacking and Cyber stalking, phishing etc and also the ways to protect from being victimized. Students understood the importance of being safe while using technology and took a pledge to be safe while going online.

Parent Orientation 2019-2020

On 25th May 2019, the first Orientation Programme for the academic year 2019-20 was organized in Podar International School, Kalkere for the parents’ of the new beginners at school.

The orientation began with invoking blessings of Almighty by the school staff. A power point presentation was done by the teachers to explain about the mission, vision and rules and regulations of the school. The various activities carried out in the class through different tools and techniques were also explained to the parents. The parents were also informed about the new programmes namely Innovation Lab, Khan Academy and Theatre which will be introduced from this academic year 2019-20.

After the power point presentation, the Principal, Mrs. Jayalakshmi, addressed all the queries of the parents.

The programme ended with a thank you note.

Jumpstart Activity 'Mystical Rain forests' - 2019

On 3rd June 2019, Podar International School, Kalkere conducted the “Jumpstart Activity” under the theme “Mystical Rainforests”. The students learnt about the animals found in rainforests. They wrote what they feel about forests and also how to save these forests. All students from Grade I to Grade VII participated with great zeal and enthusiasm.

Parivartan Drive 'Think Global, Eat Local' - 2019

In a unique initiative by Podar International School, Kalkere a ‘Parivartan Drive- Think Global, Eat Local’ was organized on 9th March 2019, to promote use of local and fresh produced food. The focus of the drive was on creating awareness about Indigenous crops, Super foods, Organic farming and eating local and healthy. The event started with a walkathon from school premise, a flash mob at the Rajkumar circle, Kalkere and raising slogans to capture the attention of the audience. The event concluded with students conducting various activities to involve parents in developing better food habits, to show concern towards farmers, the provider of food, to promote local food and to be aware of the food adulteration that has seeped into every food products. The drive was a success as the students were able to convey the change that this theme ‘Farm to Fork’, desired to achieve.

Farm to Fork - 2019

Under the ongoing IE theme ‘Farm to Fork’, students of grade 1 to 6 were taken on a farm visit on 15th February 2019. The purpose of this field trip was to help children understand from where their food comes from, how it is grown and why a healthy local food system is important. Children showed great curiosity and enthusiasm to learn about different source of food. They observed how some plants needed support to grow, some grew underground and some had thick stem. It provided the students with hands on experience to learn about the various farming practices and what kind of food is mostly grown on farms.
