Playing the piano has been known to improve the brain in the areas of concentration, eye-hand coordination, and thinking ahead. With this aim in mind the Podarites are trained by Fr. Biju who acquires 1st class in eastern keyboard from Nisari School Kollam, Kerala.

Chess

Chess inspires self-motivation. It encourages the search of the best move, the best plan, and the most beautiful continuation out of the endless possibilities. It encourages the everlasting aim towards progress, always steering to ignite the flame of victory. The children of Podar are trained by Arun D who has cleared National Arbiter examination in 2016 and 5th in International FIDE Chess Tournament 1600, in 2015.

Western Dance

Along with keeping muscles toned, dancing burns body fat, increases balance and coordination and it is a weight-bearing exercise which also strengthens bones. Ms Supriya, a Gold medal winner ISAF Hip Hop Championship 2016 and completed ISO course in Dance, Aerobics, Zumba and Gymnastic and Mr.Adrash, awarded Gold medal at National level Hip-hop Championship 2013, are training the students at Podar.

Kick Boxing

Kick Boxing is the group of stand-up combat sports based on kicking and punching, historically developed from Karate and Muay Thai. Self defense techniques and the benefits of Kick Boxing are effectively been taught by Asian Kick Boxing bronze medalist Mr. Harsha Shankar.

Karate

The psychological wealth of mastering self defense techniques is in knowing that you have whatever it takes to defend yourself whenever it is necessary, which brings a feeling of confidence and peace of mind. Mr.Johnson K P who possesses 6th degree black belt in Karate, 3rd degree black belt in Kobudo certified by Japanese Master and has been invited by the Governor of Okinawa 2 times to attend in the world seminars which were held in Japan, is training our Podarites.

Calligraphy

Calligraphy as an art form teaches us to enhance the meaning of the written word by infusing beauty, texture and dignity along with the mere words on paper. Mr. M L Bharath who is training students at Indian Montessori Training Center since 2000 and also a Member of Association for Calligraphic arts is training the students at Podar.

Drama

Drama enhances verbal and non-verbal expression of ideas. This improves voice projection, articulation of words, fluency with language and persuasive speech. Listening and observation skills develop by playing and participating in drama and theatre exercises, being an audience, rehearsing, and performing. At Podar we have Mr.Syed Sadiq S who has performed drama in ‘International Theatre Festival’ organized by ‘National School of Drama’ New Delhi, training the students.

Badminton

Playing badminton increases the bone density. It helps in the growth of bone-forming cells which promotes the activity of these cells. This helps in the assimilation of calcium in the bone matrix which leads to more strengthened and denser bones. Mr.Harsha Viman who represented University of Mysore Badminton Team for 4 consecutive years and also captained once in the South Zone Inter University Tournaments, is training students at Podar.

Football

Playing football provides innumerable advantages, such as increased aerobic and cardiovascular health, improved fitness skills and even psychosocial benefits. It helps us to lower the body fat level and improves muscle tone. Mr. Sumanth K P who has achieved gold medal at International competition and has been certified trainer under JUMPBUNCH INDIA Pvt. an American fitness company, is training our students at Podar.

Table Tennis

Playing table tennis is a great way to stimulate the brain and promote quick thinking while improving hand-eye coordination. Playing table tennis increases one's agility and flexibility and most of all their reaction time. Mr. Prem Kumar who has secured the 1st place in Inter Collegiate Tournament is training our students at Podar.

Yoga

Regular practice of Yoga can help kids develop their body awareness and learn how to remain active. Yoga consists many breathing exercises, relaxation techniques and meditations which help them to stay stress free, calm and stable. Mr. Raghavendra who possesses a Degree from National Institute of Martial arts and Yoga is training children at Podar.

Animations are intended to support students’ cognitive processes that ultimately result in them understanding the subject matter. Ms Kavitha N who is Specialized in 2D animation participated in National level camp conducted in 2014 based on 2D animation is training the students at Podar.

Basketball

Beginning basketball training at a young age improves gross motor skills by using major muscle groups. Young children who play basketball improve flexibility and endurance. Your child will also benefit from improved fine motor skills, such as hand-eye coordination. Mr.Parmesh T N a trained Physical instructor who has trained children in basket ball and secured the 1st place in district level basket ball 2016-17 and 2nd place in the district level basketball 2017-18, is training the students at Podar.

Numerous studies have demonstrated that playing guitar can boost the brain function and stimulate the cognitive function. Mr. D Daniel Preetam who has passed the 4th grade exam from the ‘Trinity College London, is training students at Podar.

Abacus

Children who learn the abacus generally achieve higher academic performance not only in arithmetic but also in all subjects because of the concentration. Abacus training increases concentration and gives ability to solve arithmetical problem. Ms Beena who was awarded as the ‘Best Teacher’ by Annadur Varadachar Memorial, is training the students at Podar.

Roller Skating

Roller-skating is a great way to improve heart health, strengthen muscles, and burn calories. It works muscles in the legs, and burns about 600 calories an hour, and causes 50% less stress to the joints than running. It even improves flexibility and endurance. M G Uma who has 15 Years of Experience in the field of Roller skating and who also runs the ‘Vishwamithra Roller Skating Club’, is training the students at Podar.

Art and Craft

Many of the motions involved in making art, such as holding a paintbrush or scribbling with a crayon are essential to the growth of fine motor skills in young children. Art education strengthens problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Ms. Shantabai, specialized in Art and Craft, who has participated 3 times in the Karnataka Lalita Kala Academy Painting Camp and National Level Artist Camp, is training the students at Podar.
