Our Heritage, Our Pride

History is not a burden on memory but an illumination of the soul.

History is one of the most important studies that shapes our attitudes towards the past and structures our present and future. Podar International School ICSE/ISC-Nerul conducted an inter house Collage making competition “Our Heritage, Our Pride” on 24.01.24. The event was hosted by the History Department for Grades V to VIII to create in the students’ love, pride and respect for the rich and prosperous Indian culture. The students displayed artistic ingenuity and excellent craftsmanship by making marvelous collage on mount boards based on the theme the famous personalities who contributed significantly to glorify the state they belonged. Students were given various states house wise and they exhibited the true essence of the states with great zeal and fervour.

To actively promote the students' interest in Mathematics and its application and encourage them to overcome their fear of Mathematics, PIS Nerul ICSE, ISC organized 'Mathematica'- a fun filled Mathematics Quiz Competition for the students of Grade V to IX on 7th February 2024. The competition was started with the introduction of the ten finalists from each grade during morning assembly, followed by a warm up quiz session for the audience.

Five teams comprising of two members each were selected for the final round. All the teams -Algebraic Avengers. Equation Explorer, Geometric Gurus, Maths Marvels, and Prime Puzzlers showed their remarkable talent in all three rounds. Team Equation

Explorer stole the show by bagging the winner's trophy. Their efforts and initiative was appreciated by all.

Podar International School ICSE NERUL conducted engaging Financial Literacy activities for primary students of class III & IV incorporating interactive activities. The activities covered areas such as currency awareness, saving, and budgeting, aiming to instill financial responsibility in students. The positive outcome underscores our commitment to establishing the foundation for responsible financial habits, ensuring that students are well-equipped with essential skills for the future. Additionally, in-class activities further reinforced financial literacy, including sessions on introduction to financial literacy, a mind map worksheet on the importance of money, budget planning exercises, metacognition worksheets on savings and spending, and an economic vocabulary worksheet through a word search.

We are excited to share the tremendous success of the recently conducted Primary Section Choral Elocution Competition! The event was a showcase of mesmerizing performances, each reflecting the incredible talent and creativity of our young stars. With the theme Emotion and Season, the teams delivered interpretations that left everyone in awe. A special congratulations to the all participants for their exceptional teamwork, creativity, and confidence shone brightly. This event not only showcased the present brilliance but also nurtured and inspired our students to become confident communicators and future leaders. We want to express our deep appreciation to all parents whose presence and encouragement made the event truly memorable. Your support is invaluable, and we look forward to bringing you more exciting events in the future.

Podar International School - ICSE/ISC, Nerul celebrated its Virtual Annual Event - 2021-22 - "Fun Fiesta with Rising Stars", where performances were beyond contest. Students of Grade I to IV showcased their talent in Acting, Singing, Dancing and Playing Musical Instruments.

Each student picked up a ‘Symbol’ picture and match it with the ‘Brand Fonts’.

Learning outcome:
Students researched about the different trees and spices found in the different regions. They learnt about the names, the characteristics and uses of the different trees and that spices are the most remarkable ingredients of the Indian cuisine. Without the spices, the exotic flavors of the Indian food don’t come out.

Division wise students sang the Patriotic song.

The event was divided into four weeks on the basis of various activities like collage making, Inter house competition , famous dances, handicrafts and famous patterns of North Eastern states, depicting the states through poem/ song/ story. Main attraction of the event was a cultural assembly done by the students of the primary section.
