Celebrating Kabir - 2023

Hindi is the language that not only unites our plural backgrounds but also stirs our souls. We feel at home when we express ourselves in our rashtriya bhashaa.

So ,when we celebrated the great poet Kabir as part of our special feature Kabir Kaleidoscope during the Hindi Diwas week , it was a double celebration of the most popular and loved language. Hindi Diwas is celebrated on 14th September, but at PIS, CBSE, Thane it was a fortnight long celebration. Hindi teachers brought about the beauty and true essence of the language and students volunteered in huge numbers and were more than eager to present their thoughts and news headlines in Hindi during the school assembly.

Our special feature , Kabir Kaleidoscope was introduced during the Hindi Diwas week. Students were introduced to the timeless dohas of Kabir ,the philosophies of which are relevant even today ;700 years later. Students learnt how the couplets (dohas) of Kabir are a testimony in itself of how our core values of proactiveness, compassion ,humility and positivity can never lose importance regardless of our technological and scientific advancements!!

They thoroughly enjoyed the brainstorming sessions on the dohas, enactments of the main themes of the couplets through skits. We wish we could take you all through each and every class's special feature sessions as the students of grades 1-8 sailed from the shore of curiosity towards perfect understanding of application of the philosophies of the dohas in daily lives.

It’s all about combining entrepreneurship with the rich heritage of our Bharat Varsh!! Learning about the various art forms viz: Gond Art , Mandala Art, Manjusha Art, Warli our star students have palatably expressed their creativity through their products. International Yoga Day Celebration - 2023
Yoga ; the gateway to happiness and the secret to a healthy mind has benefitted many global citizens in more ways than one thus bringing about the true essence of this year’s theme which is ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ meaning ‘One Earth. One Future . One Family’. Podar International School, CBSE, Thane too celebrated the international day for Yoga with equal gusto. Our students of Grades 7, 9 and 10 performed the Yoga asanas while the rest of the students partook in various yoga exercises of breathing, chair yoga just to name a few.
