Podar International School, #Hassan commemorated the 75th Republic Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor. The event, held on the school grounds, was a testament to the spirit of unity and pride in our nation. The celebration commenced with the hoisting of the tricolor by Respected Principal Mr. Joshua prem Swarup sir symbolizing our commitment to the values enshrined in the Constitution. The national anthem echoed through the air, resonating with a sense of pride among students and staff alike. A cultural program followed, showcasing the rich diversity of India through various performances. Students presented patriotic songs, dances, and skits that highlighted the importance of unity in diversity, promoting a sense of national identity. In essence, the Republic Day celebration at our school served as a reminder of the sacrifices made by our forefathers for our freedom and the responsibility we bear in preserving the democratic fabric of our nation.
Podar International School, Hassan organised a Podar Volunteer Program for students of all grades in different themes. The program focuses on cultural learning experience and improves valuable things for students.

'AATA' Annual Sports' Meet 2022-23 held at Podar International School, Hassan on 26th November, 2022.

Chief Guest Mr. G V Uday Bhaskar in his speech put light on the importance of sports activities and the significance of 26th November a 'Constitution Day'.
Students performed the welcome dance and students, parents, alumni and teachers were took part in the various sports activities.

Podar International School, #Hassan has selected the prefectural council for the academic year 2022-23. The formal function was held on 25th June (Saturday), the new prefect council was handed over the responsibilities formally through the investiture ceremony. Mr. Revanna (Police Inspector Hassan Town) and Dr. Preeti Mohan presided over the function and the Principal, Mr. Joshua Prem Swarup K administered the oath.
The Head boy, the Head Girl, the prefect in charges, the new prefect council, the captains and vice captains of all the four houses were given the badges and were entrusted to carry on their work systematically.
'ETHER' the School Band Team was the centre of attraction.

Jumpstart Activities
The theme—“The Pursuit of Happiness” has been designed to help our students to cultivate the propensity to ask questions related to life, self, personal well-being as well as inquires about the nature of existence.
PRIMARY GRADES –
Activity 1: How do I feel today?
This activity was conducted for grade 1 & 2 students. The main purpose of this activity was to create an environment of ‘acceptance’ in the classroom and help them to become more transparent with their emotions.
Activity 2: Create your own ‘Happy’
The students of grade 3 & 4 were involved in this activity. The students were instructed to create their own kind of happy for the snowman.
Activity 3: What do I feel today?
This activity was carried for grade 5 & 6 children. The students were asked to write what do they feel today?
Activity 5: What brings me peace? What breaks my peace?
The students of grade 7 & 8 were included in this activity. Through this activity the students were given an opportunity to express their emotions.
Grades 1 & 2 – Collaborative Activity - ‘The Human Knot Game’
This activity helped the students to develop leadership qualities when they take up the job to direct the group to detangle themselves.
Grades 3 & 4 -Think, Pair & Share Activity - Smashing Alternatives
This activity helped the students to learn to come up with original and innovative ideas.
Grades 5 & 6 -Class Discussion: Is Technology Killing Creativity?
This activity gave an opportunity to the students to present their opinions in an effective and skillful manner.
Grades 7 & 8 -PROBLEM SOLVING ACTIVITY
This activity helped the students to understand that without cooperation and Problem solving, collaboration is an exercise in futility.

JUMPSTART ACTIVITY
The theme –‘SPACE TROOPERS-A Hitchhike through the Mysterious Universe’ has been designed for the students to know about the space mysteries and explore our universe. Through the jumpstart activity the theme was started without telling the students what it is all about.
Primary Grades
Activity 1: Word Wall
This activity was conducted for grade 1 & 2 students. The students were asked to pick the words and place them under the same alphabets to create a word wall for the word ‘SPACE’.
Activity 2: If I Went to the Moon…
The students of grade 3 & 4 were involved in this activity. The children were asked to write what would they do if they went to the moon.
Activity 3: ‘If I went to Space, I would bring…’
This activity was carried for grade 5 & 6 children. The students were asked to write in brief what would they bring from space.
Activity 4: Brainstorm Activity
This activity was conducted for grade 7 students. The students were asked to write that one thing that they think when they read the word ‘Space’.
Activity 5: If I were an Astronaut…
The students of grade 8 were included in this activity. The students were asked to write in brief what activities they would like to don as an astronaut.

To inculcate the leadership qualities in students PODAR INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL, Hassan has selected the prefectural council for the year 2019-20.The new prefect council was handed over the responsibility formally through investiture ceremony which was held on 10th July. The Chief Guest of the function was Col. Chandrashekar Sharma. The Head boy, the Head Girl, the new prefect council, the captains and vice captains of all the four houses were given the badges were entrusted to carry on their work smoothly and systematically.
The Chief Guest Col.Chandrashekar Sharma appreciated the efforts by the school for providing opportunities to the students to take part in activities like these. He also congratulated the newly appointed prefectural council for their preparedness to take up responsibilities.

P.I.S, Hassan observed International Yoga Day on 21st of June, 2019. The students of grade 5 and 6 participated in the celebration. Various Yoga postures and asanas including pranayam and meditation were illustrated before the students. The students were also enlightened on the benefits of Yoga, yogic exercises.
Grade 1 & 2-Art & Craft Activity-‘Make Your Rainforest Gear’
The students of Grade 1 & 2 participated in an art and craft activity as a part of ‘Express Yourself’ activity. Grade 3 & 4- Creative Writing—‘An Autobiography of an Endangered Rainforest Animal’
The students of Grade 3 & 4 participated in creative writing activity as a part of the ‘Express Yourself’ activity. Grade 5 & 6—‘A Day in the Rainforest’
The students of grade 5 & 6 participated in this activity as a part of ‘Express Yourself’ activity.
Grade 7 & 8—Debate—Are the tribes of the rainforest losingtheir identity & livelihoods because of excessive intrusion? Is civilization the culprit?
Under the theme ‘Mystical Rainforest’ the students of Grade 7 & 8 participated in the debate on a topic which helped them to get a new perspective on the lives of indigenous rainforest tribes.
P.I.S, Hassan witnessed the first mega event of the academic year “School Election” to elect the sports and cultural secretary. The election was done digitally using Google forms instead of the conventional ballot paper. This was a unique feature of this year’s election. Along with this the independent candidates were also given the opportunity to contest in the election.
Ms.Ganavi C Shetty of Grade X was elected as the cultural secretary and Ms. Khushi Manjunath of Grade X was elected as the sports secretary for the year 2019-20.
Mst.Kanishk.H and Ms. Vibha Prasad of Grade X were selected as the Head Boy and Head Girl of the school for the academic year 2019-20.
The theme MYSTICAL RAINFORESTS-Exploring Life under Nature’s Green Umbrella, has been designed for the students to make them understand there’s something about the rainforests that makes it so fascinating. Jumpstart activities were carried out before the beginning of the theme without directly telling them what it is all about.
Primary Grades
Activity 1:Match the Rainforests animals with the Info card
This activity was conducted for grade 1 & 2 children. The students were so excited to match the information card with the correct animal.
Activity 2 :What I Feel about Forests!
The students of grade 3 & 4 were involved in this activity. The children were provided with post-it to express their feelings for the forests.
Activity 3: Things we get from forests
This activity was carried for grade 5 & 6 children. The students were asked to write in brief what they get from forests on the chart paper.
Activity 4: Things you can do to Save the Rainforests
The students of grade 7 & 8 were involved in this activity. The students were asked to write their ideas that they can do to save the rainforests.
Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic Calendar and is observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting to commemorate the first revelation of the Quran to Prophet Muhammad.
Celebrating multifarious cultures and festivals symbolizes the unity and integrity in a community, which is something P.I.S, Hassan takes pride in. Dr.Haroon was invited as the special speaker of the day who gave a brief talk about the importance of fasting which helped the students to understand the importance of the festival. The primary and secondary class students presented a beautiful program which included a skit and songs. The celebration was attended by Dr.Haroon, the Vice Principal and the Admin Office.
It’s school time again!
First impression matters especially on the first day of the school. Students arrived with a mix of emotions. The reasons vary from child to child, but kids tend to feel anxious about new session.
The new academic session for the year 2019-20 started on Monday the 27th of May. The new academic year started with school assembly and the students who have joined for grade 1 this academic year were welcomed in the assembly. The assembly was attended by the Principal, the Vice Principal, teaching staff, non teaching staff and the students.
Show and Tell—‘When I was LITTLE….’
This activity helped the students to develop their oral presentation skills, enhance their social skills and to think creatively.
‘Build a Time Capsule’
The students of Grade 3 &4 participated in this activity where students recorded information about themselves and the class in a time capsule.
‘Creative Expression—Interpret the Picture’
As a part of the ‘Express Yourself’ activity, the students of Grade 5 & 6 participated in a creative expression activity and interpreted the picture from the past.
‘Creative Expression—My Life Story So Far
The students of Grade 7 & 8 participated in a creative writing activity as a part of ‘Express Yourself’ session.
Sequencing: This activity was conducted for grade 1 and 2.The students were distributed the images and asked them to place them in the correct sequence from small to big, first to last and young to old.
Venn Diagram: This activity was conducted for grade 3 & 4.The students were asked to pick up one chit at a time, guess the images to the time ‘Then’, ‘Now’ and ‘Both’ and paste it in the correct circles.

Reviving the Past
This activity was carried for grade 7 & 8 students. The students were asked write that one thing which they would like to bring it back with the reason in the post-it provided to them and stuck it on the soft board.

Under the theme of ‘MARINE MARVELS-Discover the Treasures beneath the surface of our Ocean’, and as a part of ‘House Competition’, the students of the secondary grades participated in a quiz competition. The purpose of this quiz contest was to test the participants beyond academics.

Field trips are important in learning .It is a social experience that provides the opportunity for students to explore novel things in an authentic settings. Every exposure and interaction is an opportunity to learn. Realizing this P.I.S, Hassan organized field trip to an aquarium on 21st of August and on 28th of August the students visited a dam constructed across the river Hemavathi in Gorur .The students of grade 1 were taken to the aquarium and grade 7 & 8 were taken to Gorur for outdoor learning based on the theme ‘MARINE MARVELS’.

The Express Yourself activity gave an opportunity for the students to learn about ocean life through an art activity where they made their own little aquarium.
