During the festival, Christians gathered to eat the Feast of the Nativity of Christ and the consumption of bread and wine was a common custom during this time. Throughout Europe, Christians began to also celebrate Christmas day by lighting candles on trees and singing carols by candlelight. Today, Christmas is celebrated in many different parts of the world by people of all beliefs alike.
A lot of people celebrate the birth of Jesus by putting up a happy Christmas day tree, decorating it with lights, and sharing presents with friends and family. Many people also plan for new year celebrations around this time.
