Podar Innovation Center - About Us

Since its inception in the year 1927, the Podar Group took giant strides to extend their parasol not only in the cities but also to the interiors of our motherland with the ideology that quality education is the right of every child.

As the Podar fraternity spread its branches it became extremely indispensable to ensure that the quality of education does not dwindle.

Thus the Podar Innovation Center (PIC) team came into being in the year 2008 with only five veteran and skilled academicians who were exceptionally creative, energetic and zealous about making a change that matters in the field of education.

Now PIC encompasses a team of approximately eighty academicians, educationists and experts who work to facilitate teaching and learning at various levels of the Podar educational system, starting at the primary and ascending up to the senior secondary school.

The advantage of having a centralized and a standardized system is that irrespective where the school is located the Podar standard is maintained. Right from selecting textbooks, building of the syllabus as per NCERT and ICSE curriculum, making of the yearly planner, developing lesson plans with ICT teaching aids, formulating worksheets, designing question papers and internal assessments, developing guidelines for activities, project and lab work, the PIC team ensures that the best goes to our students.

This team aims to provide high quality academic and non-academic support to all the Podar Education Network Schools.



Why Podar Curriculum?

The Podar System of Education values the child as a strong, capable and resilient individual, rich with wonder and knowledge. Every child brings with him deep curiosity and potential and this innate curiosity drives his interest to understand the world and his place within it.

Our curriculum allows the child to reflect, solve, create, grow and most importantly think.

The core elements that form the gamut of PIC Curriculum are as follows:

  • All subjects are dealt with a Scientific Approach or the Inquiry Approach that uses engaging visuals and presentation formats with well-crafted activities to arouse the learner’s procedural, manipulative, observational, drawing, reporting and interpretative skills. This motivates learners to learn, enabling them to better grasp the key concepts of every subject. At the same time, emphasis is given on developing learner’s inquiry and process skills.
  • Problem Solving Skills are drilled by involving learners in identifying problems, applying previous knowledge to solve problems, reasoning and formulating conclusions. Learners develop a basic ability to solve problems and apply their learning in real life and new situations. They develop deeper understanding of concepts by solving problems.
  • Profound thinking requires both imagination and intellectual ideas. To produce excellence in thinking we engage our learners in a curriculum that overlaps the logical and the imaginative. Creative thinking is correlated with scientific creativity and is cultivated through building concept maps, sequencing events, slogan writing, and imaginary/creative writing on hypothetical situations. Our curriculum provides students with ample opportunities to practice higher-order thinking.
