Gold Medal (Grade-A) to PIS Amravati in National Children Science Congress project - 2018

The 26th National Children Science Congress for the year 2018-19 was held at Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan University, Bhubaneshwar (Odisha) during 27-31 December 2018 by NCSTC Department of Science & Technology Government of India.

The Students Shravani Dhawane (Group Leader),Malwika Maldhure, Srushti Thakare, Rohit Deshmukh, Sarang Harne of Std. VIII Podar International School, Amravati under the guidance of Ms.Shital Deshmukh (T.G.T. Science) represented their project ‘Natura Wash- a Substitute to Chemicals’ under the sub-theme ‘Health, Hygiene and Sanitation’ with the focal theme as ‘ Science, Technology and Innovation for a Clean, Green and Healthy Nation.’

The Project of PIS Amravati ‘Natura Wash- a Substitute to Chemicals’, bagged A grade in the presentation and were felicitated with a Gold Medal, Certificate along with a trophy.

The Grand Event of 26th National Children Science Congress was Inaugurated by Hon. Shri Naveen Patnaik on 27th December 2018.

The inaugural programme was also graced by the Minister for School and Mass Education, Science and Technology, Mr. Badri Narayan Patra, the state Chief Secretary, Mr. Aditya Prasad Mishra and Principal Secretary in the Science and Technology department, Mr. Nikunja Bihari Dhal.

More than 800 child scientists from all over the nation as well as 10 ASEAN and 5 Gulf Countries participated in the congregation. This program also had a huge presence of 400 Teachers, Evaluators and Co-ordinators. The Closing session was graced by the presence of Shri Ganeshi Lal, Hon'ble Governor of Odisha.

The students presented their research findings during the technical sessions. Face to Face meet with scientist was organised for the students and various activity corners were put up to boost the scientific knowledge of students.
