Podar International School – Anand had organized Virtual Elocution Competition on 27th June 2020 (Saturday).Students were divided into three groups. Group 1 grade VII to IX was given the topic ‘Missing school days’. Group 2 grade IV to VI was given the topic ‘My ambition’. Group 3 grade II and III was given the topic ‘My favourite season’.
The participants were enthusiastic and well prepared. They expressed their thought coherently and had a new experience of virtual competition. Overall the competition was successful.

English faculty day was celebrated at Podar International School, Anand on Thursday, 20th February 2020. The celebration was followed by morning assembly with prayer by the school choir, skit on the importance of English, poem recitation and dance based on the four major skills listening, speaking, reading and writing by the students of Grade I to IX. The English day was celebrated with the objective of creating awareness about importance of English language in day to day life situation and also to create students’ interest in studying the subject. Podar International School, Anand has accepted the invitation by Sardar Patel Renewable Energy Institute to visit and also to take part in the poster presentation during their 12th open house on Friday, 14th February 2020.
Students of Grade VIII and IX along with Science faculty have attended the inaugural function of 12th open house at Sardar Patel Renewable Energy Institute. During the visit various Scientist and technicians have explained about their research done in different departments like Solar, Microalgae, Nano etc.
Podar School has also taken part in the poster making competition under the theme “Innovative approaches for Solid waste management”. Students of Grade IX (Sahil Thomas and Yash Sahastrabudhe) have presented the poster under the guidance of Ms. Anjalee Sharma. The team was appreciated for the presentation by Director Mr. Gaurav Mishra and has also asked the students to join in their upcoming project under the same topic.Team was also awarded with the special Recognition prize and certificate of participation.
Overall, the visit proved to be a great learning experience for the students as it helped them to be more aware towards renewable energy and research.
Around 170 students of Podar International School # Anand participated in PARIVARTAN DRIVE 2019 - 2020’ under the theme ‘Celebrating Life’ on Friday 14th February 2020. Podar International School, a premier educational institute across India, organized a special drive on creating awareness about Mindfulness, Stress Management and Self-Awareness.
The chief guest of Parivartan Drive was Dr. Sunny Thomas, Principal of ILSAS college, inaugurated the programme and made everybody aware that one of the most important ways of celebrating life is to take care of our emotional and physical well-being. He also said about the importance of knowing one’s internal self, which is one of the most important ways of creating a positive influence in one’s life and surroundings.
Our respected Principal sir Mr. Sunil Kaimal said that if we are constantly thinking about our problems, we miss out on the beautiful moments of our lives. We often become so attached to the final outcome and destination that we don’t realize that it’s the journey that’s the most important. We all need to take a moment every day and learn to savour the small and the simple moments that our lives entail. We should stop from time to time and learn to appreciate the moments which make our lives beautiful.
Our respected Principal Sir, teachers and students from Grade V to VII participated in ‘PARIVARTAN DRIVE’ from Iskon temple to D.Z. Patel School (7-8 kms). The students actively participated in spreading awareness about the importance of taking care of one’s emotional, mental and physical well-being.
The support and cooperation from the local police/traffic police/ public motivated the school to conduct the campaign smoothly. The school has initiated the campaign to celebrate ‘existence’ and the power of living a ‘Mindful Life’.
At the end, refreshment was served to all the students and staff members.
Podar International School, Anand celebrated India’s 71st Republic Day on 26th January, 2020 in the school assembly ground. The patriotic fervour warmed up the cold winter morning as the teachers, parents and students of the school enthusiastically gathered to hoist the national flag. The ceremony started at 8:15 am in the school assembly area.
Our respected Principal sir – Mr. Sunil Kaimal was the Chief Guest of the programme. To commemorate the sovereignty of our nation, our respected Principal Sir unfurled the tricolor flag and all in unison sang the National Anthem. Our Principal sir addressed the gathering about the sanctity of the occasion and the role played by the Constitutional makers, with particular reference to Dr. B. R. Ambedkar.
Students of Grade III to VIII had demonstrated March Past on the beats of parade music with full commitment and discipline. The students Grade IV – A sang a patriotic song that awakened everyone’s feelings towards our Mother Land. There were three group dances performed by the students of Grade I to VIII followed by a skit which made us all realize how one can contribute towards making the world a better place by individual contributions and with the help of the rights given by the Constitution of India.
A programme on National Integration was presented by the students of Class III to VIII which made us aware that despite having diverse culture, traditions, languages, religions, we stand together as one. This shows our unity in diversity and we are proud that we are Indians.
The Programme concluded with Vote of thanks by Ms. Umika Sharma of Grade I-A. At the end, light refreshment was organized for all the staff members of the school. Indeed, it was a day of joy, a day to love and respect our country.
A workshop on Anger Management, Stress Management and Prevention of Sexual Harassment was organized on 21st January at PIS Anand. It was conducted by Ms. Shalini Bhatt, Principal of PIS Vadodara. The workshop was attended by all the teaching and non-teaching staff of PIS Anand.
Ms. Shalini enlightened all the staff members about the skills required to deal with anger and stress. The session was acquainted with lot of activities. She also guided and updated all the staff members regarding the prevention of sexual harassment in work place.
Overall the session was truly enriching, interactive and informative for all the staff members.
Design thinking is a creative problem-solving process that calls for thoughtful solutions to real-world situations.
Keeping this in mind, Podar International School, Anand organized an Inter-house Doodle Competition under the theme ‘‘DESIGN-A-WAY’ – Exploring the Process of Making and Unmaking!’ which allowed our students to showcase their creative and imaginative skills. In this Inter-house competition, our students illustrated a doodle on ‘Indian Sports’ and ‘Animal Kingdom’. Students of Grade IV – VIII very creatively conveyed the message through Doodle Competition.
Podar International School, Anand provides ample opportunities to our learners to excel and hone their skills and talent. Participation in Olympiads tend to make them very sharp minded and clever problem solvers because the Olympiad exams do not just test the student’s knowledge of concepts but the understanding and application of the concepts as well. Through Olympiads students can analyze their performance at school, city, state, national and international level.
Our students brought laurels to the school by winning prizes and securing meritorious positions in SOF International English Olympiad. Now our students are geared up for the second level Olympiad.

Christmas brings cheer and love, spreading the message of love and joy among everybody.
Podar International School, Anand celebrated Christmas with great fervour and enthusiasm. A special assembly on Christmas was organized by the teachers on 23rd December 2019 wherein activities like Christmas carols, speech on significance of Christmas and a skit were performed from the episode of Bible. The entire school vibrated the echoes of Christmas carols. A video on the significance of Christmas was screened in all the classes.
Reception area of the school was beautifully decorated with bells, streamers, stars, crib and Christmas tree. The boundless joy of celebrating the festival was amply visible on the faces of the children especially when Santa moved around distributing sweets to them.
Indeed it was a joyful day for both teachers and students.
Mathematics faculty day was celebrated on Saturday, 23rd November 2019 with great zeal and enthusiasm. The celebration was followed by morning assembly with prayer by the school choir, skit on Math, Rap song and Dance based on the important concept of Math by students of Grade III to VIII.
Mathematics day was celebrated with the objective of creating awareness about importance of Mathematics in day to day life situation and also to create students interest in studying the subject.

Overall it was joyful day wherein students enjoyed a lot and had the feel of Math Faculty day.
To give hands on experience related to the theme ‘Plants’, students of Grade III were taken to a nearby plant nursery “Akansha“ on Friday, 22nd November, 2019.
The objective of the field trip was to reinforce the topic-plants and to inculcate the love for the environment and to relish the beauty of nature. Students were briefed by the gardener that the garden had a collection of plants labelled with their botanical names. Students observed and explored variety of shrubs, cactus, creepers, herbs, palm, fruits, and colourful flowers. They also had a wonderful experience to touch and feel the coco pit mud. The gardener explained the students the procedure and uses of making coco pit mud.
Students were also curious to know about the surrounding and were excited to see the plants of varying shapes and sizes. Students also learnt that fertilizer and manure are required for the good growth of the plant.
This field trip sensitized the students towards caring for the environment and importance of planting more trees.
Podar International School, Anand had organized its 5th Annual Sports Meet on Friday and Saturday, 15th and 16th November, 2019. The programme began with the arrival of Principal, Mr. Sunil Kaimal of PIS Anand. He unfurled the School Flag and everybody at the gathering sang the school song.
After the introduction, students of PIS, Anand had demonstrated House-wise March Past on the beats of pared music with full commitment and discipline. Mr. Deepak Parmar, Sports teacher administered the oath to the house captains for demonstrating the true sportsmanship which increases the glory of sports, school and country.
Mr. Deepak Parmar lit the torch which represents the symbol of goodwill and harmony. Torch was carried by Master Heet Kotak, Ms. Prasavi Brahmbhatt, Ms. Saumya Shah and Ms. Aatefa Pathan. Students of Grade IV to VI had demonstrated different Yogasanas. The Sports Meet was declared open by the Principal, Mr. Sunil Kaimal.
Students had participated in different track and field events according to their age category. As the budding athletes of PIS Anand ran for the finishing line, the school campus reverberated with enthusiastic cheers from the spectators.
It was really a memorable event for the all the Podarites of PIS Anand.
The medals and certificates were awarded to the winners by the Principal and Coordinators.
Diwali is a five-day festival of lights, celebrated by millions of people across the world. The festival, which coincides with the Hindu New Year, celebrates new beginnings and the triumph of good over evil and light over darkness.
Students of Podar International School, Anand celebrated Diwali on Thursday, 24th October 2019 with great pomp and gaiety. Students shared the significance of the festival Diwali and demonstrated an episode from the epic – ‘The Ramayana’. Principal sir wished all the staff members and students, a very happy Diwali and a prosperous New Year. He emphasized not to burst crackers and be responsible towards environment/nature.
The whole atmosphere was charged with festivity. The celebration ended with great joy and happiness.

Soaking in the spirit of sharing is caring, Podar International School, Anand celebrated ‘The Joy of Giving Week’ with the students and teachers of the Government Primary School, Anand.
Students of PIS Anand performed street play on Water conservation and Save Trees. Principal Sir, teachers and students of PIS Anand distributed stationary items such as notebooks, pencils, story books etc. to the students of Government Primary School.
Through this activity, our students learnt the value of gratitude, by helping others. It also helped our students to sensitize towards the value of giving.

Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated on Tuesday, 1st October 2019 at Podar International School, Anand. The assembly began with the lighting of a lamp and by paying homage to Gandhiji, commemorating Gandhiji’s birthday. This was followed by a prayer by the school choir in the form of an ode to the Father of our nation.
A devotional ambience prevailed as the programme started with a meaningful prayer by the students. The significance of the day was given by the students of Grade IX followed by a poem recitation, dedicated to Gandhiji. The reflection on Gandhiji and his values on peace were given by Ms. Jyoti Pawar and Ms. Varsha Barde. A video was screened for the students on Gandhiji’s life which reflected on the great work done by him for our nation.
To uphold the value of non violence, students of Grade X performed a fascinating dance on peace. Our respected Principal Sir addressed the gathering by the values of Gandhiji and highlighted the sacrifices he made for the country. The programme concluded by singing the National anthem.

Objectives : (1) To perform mathematical operations and manipulations with confidence, speed and accuracy (2) To expose children to a variety of math questions and develop abstract, logical and critical thinking skills (3) to appreciate the usefulness, power and beauty of mathematics.
Conduct and Procedure:
As per the Hub learning activities decided in the lead school meeting held at JNV, Anand on 5th August, 2019 an interschool Math Quiz competition was organized by Podar International School, Anand on 7th September, 2019 for students of Classes VI to VIII. The six schools under HOL which participated in the competition are as follows:
(1) Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Bhadran
(2) Podar International School, Anand
(3) Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul International School
(4) Academic Heights Public School
(5) Vibrant International Academy, Changa and
(6) Zen School
Each school team consisted of 5 students, one from Class VI, two from Class VII and two from Class VIII.
Registration of the quiz began at 9:30 a.m. and the programme commenced at 9:45 a.m. by words of motivation by the Principal Mr. Sunil Kaimal followed by a welcome speech by Ms. Rincy Wilson. This was followed by lighting of the lamp by the Principal and incharge teachers of other schools and a prayer by the school choir.
The quiz began at 10:00 a.m. The quiz masters were Ms. Serena Nanavati and Ms. Varsha Barde. The timekeeper and scorer was Ms. Sunita Chaudhary.
There were a total of six rounds- Problem Solving, Identification Round, Passing Round, Tangram, Puzzle and Rapid Fire. The quiz came to an end by 11:30 a.m.
All students performed with full vigour, passion and enthusiasm. Podar International School, Anand emerged as the winner while Academic Heights Public School stood second and Zen School stood third. The winner schools were presented with trophies and all participants were awarded certificates.
The quiz was followed by a Principals Meet at 11:45 for planning and discussion of the upcoming activities under HOL.

A workshop on Classroom Management was organized on 4th June 2019 at PIS Anand. It was conducted by Mr. Sunil Kaimal, Principal of PIS Anand. The workshop was attended by all the teachers of PIS Anand.
The workshop focused on managing the classroom, its principles and techniques. It included establishing a routine, developing positive relationship among students, physical environment and managing time. He stressed on minimum instructional time and maximum use to teaching – learning in classroom. To understand the classroom management techniques in a better way, teachers demonstrated problems and brought the solutions for the same through role play.
Overall the workshop was a great learning, interactive and fruitful.
A workshop on Bloom’s Taxonomy was organized on 3rd June 2019 at PIS Anand. It was conducted by Mr. Sunil Kaimal, Principal of PIS Anand. The workshop was attended by all the teachers of PIS Anand.
The workshop focused on inculcating the skill of framing questions while preparing test papers, worksheets and in day to day classroom teaching.
The hierarchy of Bloom’s taxonomy from remembering to creativity had been discussed in detail with examples by Principal Sir. He further explained that questions should not be asked to test the knowledge of the students but to teach them. Through a group activity, participants framed varied questions from lower order to higher order thinking skills.
Overall the workshop was interactive and informative which inculcated the skill of questioning among teachers.
Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and respect at Podar International School, Anand. The ceremony started at 8:15 am in the school assembly area with staff, students and parents.

The students of the Choir group sang patriotic songs that awakened everyone’s feelings towards our Mother Land. An English skit was performed by the students on the theme - “Patriotism”.
Ms. Bansari Yadav of Class X delivered a speech on Rakshabandhan. There were two group dances performed by the students of Class V to X.
The Programme concluded with Vote of thanks by Khushi Dhruv of Class V-A.
At the end sweets were distributed to all the students. Indeed, it was a day of joy, a day to love and respect our country and make it a better place for Indians to live and experience the freedom, peace and unity in diversity.
PIS Anand celebrated Environmental Science and Technology Day under the supervision of Science faculties on 7th August, 2019. The day began with the special morning assembly with various programs like group song and group dance with scientific aroma. Apart from students performed skit on Neil Armstrong to mark his first step on the Moon.

Hub Meets are organized to think beyond and reach new horizon of an education. Hub Meet covers various aspects of teaching-learning methodologies, innovative ideas in current education system, effective and good governance of the school.
The First Hub Meet of the academic year 2019-20 of Anand Hub was conducted in Podar International School, Anand on Friday, 5th July 2019 wherein General Manager, principals of Vadodara Hub, IEC Manager, IT Engineers and Transport Manager attended the meet.
