School Events at Davanagere

Student councils are powerful leadership and learning opportunities. A council serves as the voice for an entire student body and actively works with teachers. Podar International School Davangere conducted an Investiture ceremony on 10th July 2023. The Inauguration of the programme started by lighting the lamp by our Principal Ms.Palukuri Revathy, our chief guest Mr.Ashwin(Inspector of police) and our co-ordinators. Students of Grade 7 Stuti and Amogh welcomed the gathering by their beautiful words. Followed by invocation dance from our grade 2,3 and 4 students.

All the newly elected Student Council members were administered oath. They were pinned with the badges by Our Principal Ms.Palukuri Revathy, Chief Guest Inspector Mr.Ashwin and the co-ordinators. Later our grade 6th students celebrated the victory of elected students by performing a beautiful dance. Our Principal mam and the Chief Guest motivated the young leaders and encouraged them in carrying out their responsibilities. Principal mam congratulated everyone for making this event a great one. Doctors are the soldiers of the country, those who don't fight at borders but dedicatedly work to save lives and improve life expectancy while putting their lives at risk. Their contribution towards human health is beyond expectations. They are always the first to respond to a pandemic situation such as COVID-19, Disease X, Plague, Flu, AIDS, Ebola, and others to protect the general populace. To appreciate those heroes, we celebrated Doctors' Day. Podar International school Davangere conducted a special assembly on 1st July to celebrate Doctors' Day. The programme started by lightening the lamp by our Principal Ms. Palukuri Revathy,Our chief guest Dr.Dhananjay (cardiologist in Narayana heart centre), Dr. Ashwini (Neonatal department, Pediatric in Bapuji hospital) and our co-ordinators. Student of Grade 8 Akshara gave a heartfelt tribute to all the Doctors by her beautiful words. On occasion of Doctors' Day Our chief guest Dr. Dhananjay and Dr. Ashwini gave a informative speech. In everybody's life, the father is the teacher who teaches us about good and bad. In our life, the father guides us, so that we make the right decision. We learn the meaning of discipline from our father. To appreciate the hero of our life, we celebrate Father's Day.

Podar International school, Davangere conducted a special assembly on 19th June to celebrate Father's Day.

The program started by lightening the lamp by our principal Ms. Palukuri Revathy and the co-ordinators. Student of Grade 7, Master Adhyanth gave a heartfelt tribute to all the Fathers by his beautiful poetry. Students of grade 8 gave a spectacular dance performance. Later our principal addressed the gathering with her beautiful and meaningful words, where she mentioned in school all teachers are the Fathers and Mothers for the students.

Every child deserves a childhood filled with learning and laughter. Together, we can break the chains of child labour through education.

Podar international school, Davangere organized a special Assembly on 12th June on the occasion of World day against child labour.

The programme started by lightening the lamp by our principal Ms.Palukuri Revathy and the co-ordinators.

Ms. Aradhana of grade 5 gave a enlightening speech about the importance of the day. Children of grade 4 conducted this Assembly and highlighted the importance of educating all the children and sent a clear message through a skit to the society against the employment of child labour. Later our principal addressed the gathering with her knowledgeable words.

World Environment Day- Be a part of solution not part of the pollution.

We believe in celebrating! we believe in implementing! And thats exactly we did this year too. With great zeal and enthusiasm the students of PIS Davanagere observed world environment day by conducting special assembly.

The event was started by watering the plants by our Principal Ms. Palukuri Revathy and Co-ordinators.

The student of Grade 6 Pranavi delivered a meaningful message to spread awareness about environment day through speech.

The students of grade 4,5,6,7 and 8 displayed placards of spreading awareness.

All the students took an oath to "save our mother Earth". Later our Principal Ma'am and Co-ordinators along with students of Grade 1 planted the saplings.The event was concluded by a speech from our Principal Ma'am, Ms. Palukuri Revathy.

“Vaidyo Narayana Hari” which means “Doctor is God”.

Podar International School organised FREE MEDICAL CAMP for all the PODARITES from 9th March 2023 to 11th March 2023.

The specialist and most famous Doctors of Davangere, Dr. Chethan K.B and Dr. Spoorthi S.M (Paediatricians), Dr. Neethu C Annigeri, Dr. Channesh Patel, Dr. Shivani, Dr. Shreya (Dentist), Dr. Mohan R. (Physician and Nephrologist), Dr. Veeresh A R (ENT), Dr. Anil Raj(Ophthalmologist) diagnosed the students and gave them suggestions wherever necessary to keep their health.

More than 700 students got benefit by this Free Medical Camp.

Our Principal Ma'am Mrs. PALUKURI REVATHY thanked all the Doctors for being with us for three days and making it a huge success.

Podar International School, Davangere celebrated Annual Day- 2022-23 with the theme "TRINITY" - (A melange of parent-student-teacher) on 17th February 2023.

The occasion of the grand mega event was graced by the honorable Chief Guest Shri. B M Darukesh, BEO South Davangere and the most respected Guest of Honour, Shri. Raj Hulmani Sir , Principal, PIS Belagavi , Dr. Kala S Bhushan Ma'am , well-known Periodontist and the Land lords Shri Kallesh Sir and Shri Mahesh Sir. The event was presided by our beloved respected Principal Ma'am Mrs. PALUKURI REVATHY.

All the dignitaries gave a divine start to the event by lighting the lamp.

The formal function started at 5PM followed by cultural programs, Jumbo ke Vanabandu by Podar Jumbo Kids from 6.15 and Incredible India by PIS from 8PM onwards.

Various teams represented the new idea of Incredible India through programs such as Indian Dance forms, Festivals, Strength of Army, Indian film industries, Food varieties, Clothing of different states, Women Empowerment, Freedom Fighters, Indian famous Sportsmen, through marvellous dances and skits. The school authorities were quiet elated by the number of guests who turned up to witness the function. Thus it proved that annual function is not just an event but a priceless moment of time in which we all are together. This togetherness is our strength, our life and a grand symbol of a constant growth.

Podar International School, Davanagere celebrated 74th Republic Day on 26 January 2023 in school with patriotic spirit and fervour.

After paying floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru and Dr. B R Ambedkar, the National Flag was hoisted by our Principal Mrs. Palukuri Revathy, Headmistress Ms. Monalisa Singh, Admin Officer Mr. Savan and Chief Guests Mr. Prasanna Kumar and Dr. Vishwanath L D and was followed by National Anthem.

Children and all staff members participated with lots of enthusiasm and patriotic zeal.

On this occasion a brief cultural programme was organized by children.

The Honorable Chief Guests and Principal Ma'am addressed the gathering of young patriots on Republic Day. They highlighted the important features of our Indian Constitution and promised to abide by our Constitution.

Principal Ma'am thanked all the children and staff for their active participation and parents for their continuous support and extended her best wishes to all of them on this occasion of 74th Republic Day.

Podar International school, Davangere celebrated *National Mathematics Day* on 22nd December 2022.

The special assembly was conducted by Grade 2 students. Various activities like Tables writing competition for Grade 1 & 2 , Written Quiz Competition at different levels for Grade 3-7 was conducted.

More than 500 students participated in the competition. The winners were awarded with the prizes and certificates. Principal Ma'am gave information about the significance of the National Mathematics Day and also about Great Mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan.

Later, Ma'am congratulated all the winners and appreciated all the participants.

Culminating Event on the theme Kaleidoscope

KAVISHALA (A Journey With the Poets) was conducted in Podar International School, Davanagere on 10th December 2022.

All the students and parents actively participated in this mega event.

The event of poetry with poets was inaugurated by our beloved Principal Ma'am Mrs. PALUKURI REVATHY. Each and every one entering KAVISHALA was welcomed by giving the wrist bands with a tag line KAVISHALA - A Journey with the poets.

Students were dressed up like poets and recited the poems written by them.

Few activities like rhyme time, tongue twisters, create a poem and acrostic poems was organised for all. Students learned and spoke about poets' across the world and their achievements. Along with learning about the poets' they also learnt the different forms of poem and poetry tools.

The event was eye pleasing to see the poets' come alive in the form of our students.
Principal Ma'am appreciated the efforts of all the students and whole heartedly thanked parents for their constant support.

Podar International school, Davangere observed World Soil Day on 5th December 2022.

The special assembly was conducted by Grade 1 students and Master. Nikshit S P gave speech on the significance of the day.

Various activities like essay writing, poster presentation, compost preparation were planned for all the students. Students of Grade 1 & 2 visited TARALBAALU KRUSHI VIGYAN KENDRA and understood about different agricultural techniques by the resource persons in TKVK.

Principal Ma'am thanked the entire fraternity of TKVK for their encouragement and support. Ma'am also appreciated, encouraged the students throughout the event by making them aware of the importance of the day.

Podar International school, Davangere celebrated Children's Day on 14th November 2022.

The programme was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by our beloved Principal Ma'am Mrs. PALUKURI REVATHY and all the Coordinators.

Followed by the inauguration Gahan of Grade 1 and Ganav of Grade 2 spoke about the importance of the day. All the students enjoyed a warm-up dance.

As part of Children's Day with a theme ' *Disney World * activities like Best attire and quiz competition was organised for the students.

*Each and every child was presented with the plants and a greeting card with their photograph on it* with a meaningful message on it.

The prizes were awarded to the winners of Quiz and Best attire competition.

Later the vote of thanks was given by Nirikshaa of Grade 1.
The whole event was compered by Miss. Nirali and Master.Dhanush of Grade 2.

Principal Ma'am wished each and every child a Happy Children's Day.

Annual Sports Day was conducted at Podar International school, Davangere on 12th November 2022.

The Chief Guest for the event was Dr. B. H. Veerappa and was presided by our beloved Principal Ma'am Mrs. PALUKURI REVATHY.

The event started with lightning the lamp along with invocation. Followed by invocation was flag hoisting ceremony, March past, Mass drill and the final matches were played between the four houses.

The sportive environment was filled among the students and also within the campus.

Our honorable Chief Guest and Principal Ma'am motivated, filled the sportive spirit in the students by their speech. The entire event was compered by Tarun Shankar and Srishti Maganahalli.

Podar International school, Davangere celebrated Hindi Diwas and Rashtriya Ekta Diwas on 31st October 2022.

The programme was inaugurated by watering the plant by our beloved Principal Ma'am Mrs. PALUKURI REVATHY.

Followed by the inauguration Dheer Jain of Grade 6 spoke about the importance of the day. The students of Grade 2 performed a Nukkad Natak. Later Shivansh of Grade 2 sang a song followed by the slogans of Grade 3 students.

As part of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas & Hindi Diwas with the theme ' *Integration of India'.* activities like drawing, elocution and Poster Making was organised for the students.

*Swachhta Pakhwada* was the major event organised by the students to create awareness among the people in the society.

The whole event was compered by Master. Shourya and Master. Atharva.
Principal Ma'am appreciated the selfless work and enthusiasm of the students in creating awareness.

Podar English Club (PEC) a new initiative was started by Our beloved Principal Ma'am Mrs. PALUKURI REVATHY.

The inaugural ceremony of PEC was held on 11th October 2022 at Podar International School, Davangere.

The programme was inaugurated by taking the blessings of Goddess Saraswathi (Mother of Knowledge) and lighting the lamp by our Principal Ma'am and PEC members.

The main objective of Podar English Club is to inculcate and enhance the Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing skills among the students that builds confidence, knowledge and strength in language along with the enhancement of English Communication skills.

As a crown to this event Student leaders were elected from each grade and they were initiated oath by Our Principal Ma'am.

The significance of this club was made very clear by a short skit performed by the Grade 6 students.

Principal Ma'am addressed the students and explained briefly about PEC. All the teachers and students were present during the Inauguration. The whole event was anchored by the PEC member Ms. Mettilda.

Culminating Event on the theme. 'Sci-Hi Museum -The Foot Prints In Time ' was conducted in Podar International School, Davanagere.

More than 300 students and parents participated in this mega event.

This wonderful event was made even more valuable and special by our Chief Guest Dr. Latha S M, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology, Davangere University and by the great support our beloved Principal Ma'am Ms. PALUKURI REVATHY.

Students learned and spoke about different Archaeological sites, civilization, discoveries and many more activities were arranged. The students also dressed up according to the theme and expressed their thoughts.
