School Events at Sangamner

Through the Conscious Closet module, students explore the complete journey of clothing—from its design and production to consumption and disposal. They learn how excessive consumption contributes to textile waste, pollution and depletion of natural resources, while discovering practical ways to make more responsible choices.

The event brings together a vibrant range of activities, including:

• Eco-Fashion Show – Students showcase repurposed, upcycled and repaired clothing, highlighting creativity and sustainability.
• Expression Wall – The Future of Fashion – A creative space where students express their thoughts and ideas about sustainable fashion.
• “30 Wears” Graffiti Wall – Encouraging everyone to move beyond the “wear it once” culture and embrace repeated use of clothing.
• Upcycling Challenge – Teams transform old or damaged textile items into something useful and wearable.
• Sustainable or Not? Sorting Game – An interactive activity helping students distinguish between sustainable and unsustainable fashion choices.
• Stalls for Upcycled Items – Repurposed clothing and creative products such as sling bags, cushion covers, coasters, bookmarks and more.
• Awareness Installations – Powerful visual installations such as “The Landfill”, “Deconstructing the Influencer Haul” and “Fashion Waste Monster” highlight the environmental impact of fast fashion.
• Clothing Donation Corner – Encouraging students and families to donate pre-loved clothing and give it a meaningful second life.

Adding energy and creativity to the celebration of sustainability.

The event is not merely about fashion—it is about mindful choices, responsible consumption and collective action. It provides students with an opportunity to research, collaborate, create, communicate and become responsible changemakers.

Honourable Principal Mrs. Meenakshi Mishra, addressing the students, Mrs. Meenakshi Mishra, emphasised the importance of developing mindful consumption habits and making sustainability a part of everyday life. She encouraged students to question fast-fashion practices, value the clothes they already own, reuse and repair wherever possible, and understand that even small individual choices can contribute to a healthier planet.

At Podar, we believe that education goes beyond grades—it is about nurturing thoughtful, responsible and environmentally conscious citizens.

History came alive at Podar International School, Sangamner on 17th Aug 2026 as we welcomed the Museum on Wheels – Sindhu-Saraswati Civilization: “A Century of Discovery”!

The Museum on Wheels is a mobile educational outreach project by the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya (CSMVS), Mumbai. Operating through custom-built, air-conditioned buses, the initiative brings ancient Harappan artefacts, replicas, and interactive workshops directly to schools and public spaces.

Our students had a wonderful opportunity to explore the fascinating world of the Harappan Civilization, discover its rich heritage, and engage with history through an immersive and experiential learning experience.

Under the visionary guidance of Principal, Mrs. Meenakshi Mishra, we continue to create meaningful learning experiences that take our students beyond textbooks and beyond the classroom.
