Podar International School, CBSE Kalyan proudly participated in the Inter-School Science Competition held at Seth Hirachand Mutha School, Kalyan. Our talented students from Grades VII to X showcased their scientific skills and creativity and brought laurels to the school by winning in the Group A category.

This achievement was made possible due to the constant guidance and encouragement of our dedicated Science teachers and the support of our Principal, who always provides students with opportunities to excel beyond the classroom.

Slightly older students created their own Rakhi using craft materials like wool, ribbons, decorative stones, beads, and buttons.

Other students participated in competitions where they could either make a Rakhi in school or create a Raksha Bandhan-themed greeting card for a sibling or a soldier, using threads, ribbons, decorative items, glue, paper, and colours. Senior students took part in a debate on an environmental theme as part of Vrikshabandhan, with the topic being announced a day prior.

These activities provided students an opportunity to showcase their creativity, express their thoughts, and celebrate the festival while understanding the values of love, care, and social responsibility. An in-house training session was conducted at Podar International School, Kalyan (CBSE) for the academic year 2025–26 on 2nd August 2025. The session took place in the Library from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm.

The topic for the session was “Happy Classroom.” The session was facilitated by Tr. Tushar K, who shared valuable insights and practical strategies for creating a positive and engaging classroom environment. The training emphasized building joyful learning spaces, strengthening teacher-student relationships, and fostering emotional well-being through interactive classroom practices.

All teachers attended the session with great enthusiasm and actively participated in the discussions and activities. The training proved to be highly informative and inspiring, equipping the teachers with effective techniques to enhance student motivation and maintain a happy classroom atmosphere.

Overall, it was a productive and enriching learning experience for everyone present.

Podar International School, CBSE Kalyan conducted a Teacher’s Orientation Programme on 31st July 2025 as per the instructions from the IEC Department. The session aimed to enhance teaching effectiveness and ensure better academic planning for the upcoming term.

The programme was held in two slots – from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. for afternoon shift teachers and from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. for morning shift teachers. The session took place in the school library, providing a conducive atmosphere for interactive discussions and learning.

During the orientation, teachers were guided on updated academic policies, effective classroom management strategies, and innovative teaching methodologies. The session also emphasized the importance of collaboration, planning, and maintaining a positive learning environment.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of the Principal, whose encouragement and support made the session highly enriching. As part of Guru Purnima celebrations, a Creative Tribute activity was organised in our school on 10th July 2025, in which students from all grades actively participated. The activity was non-compulsory and gave students an opportunity to express their gratitude and respect for their teachers in a creative manner.

Students were invited to submit any one of the following: a drawing, a slogan in any language, a poster combining art and words, a self-composed poem, or a self-written article expressing their thoughts on Guru Purnima. The submissions reflected a wide range of creativity, talent, and heartfelt appreciation for teachers.

The activity was displayed on the soft board, allowing all students and teachers to view and enjoy the contributions. It provided a platform for students to showcase their artistic and literary skills while celebrating the importance of guidance, knowledge, and mentorship in their lives.

An English Poetry Competition was held in our school on 25th June 2025 with great enthusiasm and active participation from students of all grades. The competition aimed at encouraging students to explore their creativity, improve their expression, and develop confidence in public speaking.

The competition was organised class-wise, and each student was given an opportunity to recite a poem of their choice. The performances were judged by class teachers on a 20-mark criterion which included pronunciation, expression, memory, and overall presentation. The winners from each class were later awarded with certificates, recognising their efforts and achievements.

This competition not only helped students showcase their talent but also enhanced their love for poetry and literature. The school atmosphere on this day was lively and filled with the rhythm of inspiring verses. The event concluded on a cheerful note, with students applauding and encouraging one another.

A field trip to a printing press was organised for the students to provide them with practical knowledge about the process of printing and publishing. The visit aimed to help students understand how newspapers, books, and other printed materials are produced, linking theoretical concepts with real-world applications.

During the trip, students observed various stages of the printing process, including designing, typesetting, printing, and binding. They learned about different types of printing machines and techniques, gaining hands-on experience and insight into the functioning of a professional printing press.

The trip was highly interactive, with students asking questions and engaging with the staff to better understand the workflow and technology used in printing. Teachers accompanied the students, ensuring safety and guiding them throughout the visit.

The field trip provided an enriching learning experience, helping students connect classroom knowledge with practical applications, while also inspiring curiosity and interest in the field of printing and publishing.

The Investiture Ceremony of the Student Council was held on 10th June 2025 with great pride and solemnity to formally induct the newly elected student leaders for the academic year. The event began with a warm welcome to the Chief Guest, followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp, symbolising knowledge and wisdom.

The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of badges and sashes to the elected council members by the Principal, teachers, and the Chief Guest. Each student leader also received their respective house flags, signifying the responsibility entrusted to them.

After the formal induction, the Head Boy and Head Girl delivered inspiring speeches, sharing their vision and commitment to uphold the values of the school and lead by example. The Principal addressed the gathering, congratulating the council members and encouraging them to perform their duties with sincerity, teamwork, and dedication.

The ceremony concluded on a note of pride and motivation, leaving the newly appointed council members determined to shoulder their responsibilities with confidence and honour.

A Solo Dance Competition was organised in our school on the occasion of International Dance Day – 29th April 2025, with great enthusiasm and active participation from students across all grades. The competition aimed to provide students a platform to showcase their talent, rhythm, and passion for dance.

The competition was conducted in two rounds. The Semi-Final Round was held on 25th April 2025, where the top three finalists from each class were selected to advance to the Final Round. The Final Round took place on 29th April 2025 during the first lecture, and students performed solo dances in the categories of Classical, Devotional, and Patriotic. Each performance lasted for 1 minute 30 seconds.

The performances were evaluated on Choreography & Creativity, Rhythm & Timing, Expressions & Energy, Technique & Execution, and Confidence & Stage Presence. These criteria assessed the originality, synchronization with music, enthusiasm, precision, and stage confidence of the performers.

The competition not only highlighted the students’ talent and creativity but also encouraged self-confidence, discipline, and appreciation for the art of dance. The event concluded successfully, leaving students inspired and motivated, while adding a vibrant and energetic atmosphere to the school on International Dance Day.

A Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) meeting was held in the school to discuss important academic and administrative matters. The meeting was conducted under the guidance of the Principal, who addressed the parents and teachers, highlighting the progress of students and various initiatives undertaken by the school.

During the meeting, parents were informed about upcoming activities, school policies, and responsibilities were assigned to both parents and teachers to ensure smooth coordination and active participation in school programs. Refreshments were provided to all attendees, creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for discussions.

Earth Day was celebrated in our school on 22nd April 2025 with enthusiasm and active participation from students of all grades. The programme aimed at spreading awareness about the importance of protecting the environment and adopting sustainable practices in daily life.

Under the guidance of class teachers and science teachers, various activities such as poster making, debates, slogan writing, and creative displays were conducted across the sections. Students also brought saplings from home and planted them in the school premises, adding a practical and meaningful touch to the celebration. These activities gave students an opportunity to showcase their creativity, express their ideas, and contribute directly to environmental conservation.

The school atmosphere on this day was vibrant and filled with messages of care, responsibility, and hope for a greener future. The celebration concluded on a positive note, leaving students inspired to take small but consistent steps towards protecting Mother Earth.
