“Studying and appearing for the exams is a part of schooling however students need to be prepared for the outside world and hence Sports play a very important role in their life,” quoted a parent from the audience.
Our Principal, Mrs Suchita Malakar also encouraged the students to take sports seriously. She also mentioned in her speech the importance of playing in a child’s life. “Sports of course have its benefits of building a good character however in early years it is quintessential for developing the gross motor skills of the young children. Sports contributes a lot towards physical development simultaneously it develops the correct mental ability in a child and that is exactly what we at Podar focus on.”

Podar International School, Cambridge, Powai organized Virtual Trans-disciplinary Event with an interesting theme, ‘Concoction of Nature and Fiesta’. Our learners performed a role play activity on the story ‘Trans Adventure of Chota Bheem and Chutki.’ They acted as different characters and made connections by integrating different subjects like Science, Math, Art and Craft, Global Perspectives, Literature, Technology, Languages and Mindfulness Education.
Our young actors showcased wonderful performances which made learning more interesting, meaningful and ultimately could connect the classroom learning with the outside world. Our Young Groovers burnt the dance floor with a scintillating dance performance and made the event memorable. Finally, we had few students give out a heartfelt vote of thanks to all the teachers and parents.
At Podar International School, CAIE #Powai, we believe that we must find ways to engage our students globallly with authentic learning experiences that will connect them with others around the world. Keeping this in mind we organized virtual cultural exchange program for our Grade 7 students in collaboration with a school named “Collège Vieux Porte” situated in France to showcase our culture, Indian students exchanged emails, presented themselves in French to bridge the gap between them and French students An interactive quiz session was also conducted so that Indian students get an opportunity to interact with French students and understand their accent. They in return posed a few questions to our students, recited a French poem as well. Overall, it helped students of both the countries to recognize the intrinsic value that each member of our global community holds and definitely paved a way to broaden their horizon.
Podar International School #Powai JOY OF GIVING : "Christmas is a season not only of rejoicing but of reflection."
A Christmas celebration is incomplete without sharing the ‘Joy’ and hence the school initiated a ‘Joy of Giving ‘drive. This drive was carried out throughout a week where students were asked to donate small amount and quantities of basic day to day necessities like: pulses, wheat flour, semolina, butter, sugar and some toiletries. Students willingly donated these items. The school arranged for a visit to St Catherine Orphan Home for students of Grade 9. “I felt happy to share the joy of Christmas with these kids but a little sad for what they are missing in their life. We cannot replace it with these material things but this is the least that we can do,” commented a student.
“The aim is to teach students to be thankful to what they have got, help the ones who don’t have it and believe in giving joy. This is to let our students realise that Christmas is not only about partying and having fun but it is about caring, loving and sharing. That is the only way we can build a harmonious future for this generation.
