Know Your Army Exhibition - 2016

On 11th August 2016, students of PIS Patiala visited ‘Know Your Army’ Exhibition at Patiala Cantt. A plethora of weapon systems and equipment of Indian Army was on display during the exhibition. The exhibition was organized with an aim on showcasing Indian Army equipment, ethos, culture and to motivate young boys and girls to choose this extraordinary career as "the way of life"

Impressive Investiture Ceremony at PIS Patiala

The Investiture Ceremony of Podar International School Patiala for the academic session 2016-17 was held in a special program amidst an air of enthusiasm and anticipation at the school premises.The Principal and House In-charges conferred the badges and sash to the elected students.With pride and a sense of achievement surging in their hearts, all leaders took a solemn oath of discharging their duties with diligence and loyalty.Avarnjot and Rashnoor Dhillon were chosen as Head Boy and Head Girl respectively.Rupinder kaur and Aashirwad were chosen as Sports Captains. Rajesh Puri, Principal, Podar International School,congratulated all post holders and advised them to become able leaders by developing leadership qualities. The vote of thanks was proposed by the Academic coordinator Mrs. Ms.Shailja Kapur. The programme was brought to a close with the singing of the national anthem.

Parivartan Drive - 2016

Podar International School Patiala, a premier educational institute across India, organized a special drive on water conservation and rain water harvesting. Over 100 students participated in this special drive titled ‘PARIVARTAN’, to generate awareness about rainwater harvesting with a view to catering to the daily requirement of water for drinking and domestic purposes in residential usage, besides inculcating a culture of water conservation.

Retd.Capt. Manjit Singh,AO,Thaper University,Patiala & Mr.Rajneesh Kumar (President,Paryavaran Welafare Society,Patiala) inaugurated the rally by waving the green flag.The children walked from Tagor Theatre,Model Town in Patiala at 10 a.m. to Rekhi Hospital,Model Town,Patiala . They carried colourful placards carrying messages like ‘Harvest H2O!’, ‘Bore-wells run dry? Crops failing ? We can still help Indian farmers to fight drought using water-harvesting techniques.’ ‘Today’s rain water is tomorrow’s life saver!’ to state a few. The students also demonstrated the rainwater harvesting models to the local public to explain water literacy in real terms.

Principal of PIS Mr.Rajesh Puri said, “We can all bring in the change. By incorporating a few lifestyle changes, we can actually bring considerable change if every individual is made to feel responsible and this is what our students have tried to communicate to the public. We will be one of the schools practising water management and creating awareness on water harvesting. We try to make our students aware about water conservation. They are young and thus they play a large part in the future of the nation by better implementation things.”

The support and cooperation from the local police & Paryavaran Welfare Society motivated the school to conduct the campaign at Patiala.With the help of placards, informative pamphlets, banners, slogans — the school requested the public to carry out their part by doing their bit in water conservation.

Annual Day Celebration - 2016

Podar International School Patiala celebrated its 2nd Annual day at local Kalidasa Auditorium on 30th January 2016.Annual day of the school,aptly named “Akbar Birbal Ki Noke Jhoke”was a showcase of how talented the little Podarites really are.The two- hour event brought to life the colours of childhood with programmes ranging from exhibition of dances, songs and drama.

The bedazzling performances and the giving away of Annual awards was graced by the Chief Guest.Ms. Madhu Chopra,a renowned educationist and poetess of the city. The Principal of the school Mr.Rajesh Puri commented that “Most people from outside the school would think of ‘Akbar Birbal Ki Noke Jhoke’as a one off event.However,at PIS Patiala this is what we do that we nurture talent, what you see here is the culmination of hard work that the students and their teachers put in throughout the year.”

Chief Guest Ms.Madhu Chopra appreciated and congratulated the students as well as the entire team of the school for the grand success of the event.?

Republic Day Celebration - 2016

In view of the extreme cold weather conditions the Deputy Commissioner of Patiala had declared holidays for Primary classes in all schools from 25th to 27th January 2016.Thus, on Republic Day we called students only from Std VI and VII to celebrate the day. Jai Hind.
