Maharashtra Din and International Labour Day - 2025
On 1st May 2025, Maharashtra Day and International Labor Day were celebrated in Podar International School, Sangli with great enthusiasm and respect across Maharashtra.
The day marks the formation of the state of Maharashtra in 1960, and also honors the contributions of workers across the world.
The dual celebration reminded everyone of the state's proud legacy and the vital role of workers in nation-building. It was an occasion filled with learning, patriotism, and appreciation for collective contributions.

Sangli Podarites at HMUN Boston Conference USA - 2024
Team PIS, Sangli is delighted to share that for the fourth consecutive year, Podar International School, Sangli participated in 71st Harvard MUN prestigious conference held at Boston USA from 25th January 2024 to 28th January 2024. Around 4,000 students from 150 schools representing 62 nations around the world were part of this most reputed and oldest Model United Nations Conference.
A team of 12 delegates from Grade VIII to XI participated in this conference, representing countries Somalia and Palestine. We were the only school from the country to represent India. One of the delegates got an opportunity to be a part of the specialized agencies- Organization of Islamic Countries and one crisis committee. The students’ represented the committees like of UNESCO, UNICEF, FSST, UNHRC, UNDEF and deliberated on internationally concerned issues like leveraging food system Innovation for sustainable development, Educational Opportunities for Refugees, Implementation and International Governance of solar Geoengineering, Child Labor , Child marriage and Agriculture on Mars Settlement.
Delegate named , Mst.Yushit Rhoida got appreciation for his crisis solving skills in The court of Akbar and Miss Zoya Mujawar got a special mention award in the O.I.C Committee for diplomatically handling the state of Palestine. A part of delegate Ms. Eshita G. Patil's resolution was included in the final committee resolution.
The conference was followed by a guided tour of the Harvard University campus, United Nations Headquarters New York and Capitol Hill Washington D.C. The Harvard Model United Nations conference has surely turned the students into more responsible, sensitive and matured world citizens.
