Podar International School,-Vidyanagar, Shivamogga Shines at CBSE National Athletic Meet 2025-2026

The students of Podar International School, Shivamogga have brought immense pride to the city and the institution by achieving remarkable success at the CBSE National Athletic Meet 2025–26, held at Saint Atulanand Convent, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh from 10th September 2025 to 13th September 2025.

A team of talented athletes is Anargha P., Samyukta Hegde, Teeksha S., Vamshika Karthikeyan, and Ishani Ikshu. They have created history by winning the Gold Medal in the 4x400 meters relay and the Silver Medal in the 4x100 meters relay. Their outstanding collective performance also secured the Overall Championship in the under-17 girls’ category.

Individually, Ishani Ikshu displayed remarkable speed, finishing fourth in the 100 meters race, while Samyukta Hegde secured the fifth position in the triple jump event. These achievements highlighted the depth of talent and dedication within the team.

The credit for this glorious victory goes not only to the students but also to the strong support system behind them. The School Principal, Mr. Sukesh Serigara, along with Vice-Principal Mrs. Uma Maheshwari, Karnataka Hub General Manager Mr. Ravindra Wankela, Manager Mrs. Bhavana Purushottam, and the school’s Physical Education teacher and trainer Mr. Nagarjuna U, played a pivotal role in motivating and preparing the team. Their guidance and encouragement were instrumental in this success.

This victory holds special significance as it marks the first-ever national-level achievement in athletics by a CBSE school’s girls’ team from Shivamogga. It is also a proud moment for Podar International School as the team now earns the prestigious opportunity to participate in the SGFI National Meet.

The school community, parents, and well-wishers are elated with this achievement, which has etched a new chapter in the sporting history of Shivamogga. Indeed, the determination and hard work of the students have not only brought laurels to their school but have also inspired many young athletes to aim for excellence.
