'Salumarada Thimmakka' Tree Park Visit 'Grade I & II' - 2025
Our students of grade I and II visited Udupi’s most unique community gardens, the "Salumarada Thimmakka" Tree Park.
The park is renowned for being fun as well as very educational, with statues and explanations depicting different animals, landmarks and traditions of the area.
The park also consists of a botanical garden where students can learn about different plants and trees and their medical benefits.
Our students had a great time exploring the wonderful park and learning a lot of new information.
Leadership Camp - 2025
Podar International School - Udupi organised a Leadership Camp for grades 9 and 10 of Podar International School Udupi and Mangalore, conducted by M.R. Pai Foundation jointly with Forum of Free Enterprise, Mumbai.
Our esteemed resource persons Mr. Rajiv Kumar Luv, an accomplished trainer, executive coach, and life skills coach, with a BSc from Mumbai University and a B.Tech from Chennai, Ms. Clarissa Jathanna a Learning and Development Consultant, a Certified Life and Entrepreneurial Coach and the Founder of Mpowergraph, and covered topics such as :

Podar Parv - 2025
Parents and students of Podar International School - Udupi celebrated "Podar Parv - 2025", a night of dance, song, games and fun!!
The night was an explosion of colors, and everyone had a great time under the open sky.
Games were played, songs were sung and winners of the Parent Events, held the previous day, were felicitated by our Principal Ma'am.

Career Guidance Session 'Grade IX and X' - 2025
A Career Guidance Session was organized for the students of Grade 9 and 10 at Podar International School, Udupi. The resource person for the session was Mr. Vipin Narayanan, who enlightened the students about the importance of making informed career choices.
During the session, Mr. Narayanan highlighted the need for self-awareness, identifying individual strengths, interests, and aptitudes before selecting a career path. The ILP Assembly held on 22nd August 2025 under the theme "Savour, Save, Sustain" was a vibrant event showcasing the importance of healthy eating and sustainable practices.
Students creatively portrayed themselves as different healthy and unhealthy foods, emphasizing the need for balanced diets.
The event highlighted the significance of going local, promoting the consumption of locally sourced produce. Through skits and presentations, children effectively conveyed the message of choosing sustainable and nutritious options for a healthier planet.

In honor of Independence Day 2025, our students not only learnt about India but also took the opportunity to show gratitude towards our soldiers , emergency workers and every person who lets us live our life without worry or fear.
Grade VIII, IX and X students showed their gratitude by crafting handmade cards showing their deep and genuine respect for every Protector and Defender of our country.
Rakshabandhan Celebration - 2025
Podar International School - Udupi celebrated Raksha Bandhan, a day to thank all those who protect us, take care of us and support us in life.
Grades I and II used their imagination to color a picture of a Rakhi and their creativity shined on the pages
Grades III to VII were charged with creating Rakhis using the Tri-color in the spirit of the upcoming Independence Day.
The little ones took this opportunity to thank our support staff namely security uncles, bus driver uncles, Transport Didi's and housekeeping Didi's, for their continued and unwavering dedication towards them.
Open House 'Grades III to VIII' - 2025
Podar International School - Udupi conducted an Open House for grades III to VIII this week.
After the students completed their 1st periodic test of the new Academic Year, this Open House was an opportunity for students, parents and teachers to review the test scores and work on achieving higher grades.
Open Houses are a great opportunity for students, parents and teachers to evaluate the progress of the students and work together towards achieving their academic goals.
It also presents an opportunity for a more personal discussion between teachers and parents for the betterment of the students.
ILP Field Trip to Planetarium - 2025
Field Trips were arranged for grades III to X by Podar International School - Udupi.
Grade 3 & 4 visited Dr. TMA Pai Planetarium, Manipal, to get a better understanding of the world we live in and the universe around us.
Grade 5 & 6 got the opportunity to visit Dr. Kota Shivaram Karanth's theme park, Kota, and get acquainted with our local roots and rich and varied heritage.
Grade 7 & 8 toured the KMF Dairy, Uppoor, and got a closer understanding of how the dairy functions, how the machines work, and how a large-scale industry runs smoothly.
Grade 9 & 10 explored the Manipal Museum of Anatomy & Pathology, KMC where they discovered what lies inside every living being! They witnessed medical anomalies and left with a sense of amazement.
Field Trips are a part of our schools efforts to encourage our students to explore the different opportunities around them and learn outside of their classrooms.
Mock Fire Drill - 2025
Podar International School - Udupi conducted a Mock Fire Drill at our school premises for all students from Nursery to Grade X.
The Fire Evacuation took 2.33 minutes and the following steps were taken to ensure maximum efficiency:
- Teachers alerted the students to recognize the sound of the fire bell.
- Teachers instructed students on how to properly assemble within class and evacuate the classroom in an orderly fashion.
- Teachers lead the students to their grades designated assembly point and did a head count.
- Search and Rescue team searched every room on their designated floor includeing washrooms, storage rooms, etc.
- The medical team demonstrated proper First Aid procedures.
- Administrative Officer and Mid-Coordinator demonstrated how to properly extinguish fire using wet fabric. They also explained the different components of a fire extinguisher and demonstrated the correct way to use them.
Respected Principal Maam addressed the students and encouraged them to pay attention and ask questions about the drill. She also instructed the students not to panic during emergencies as all precautions for their well-being are being taken.
Vaccination Drive - 2025
Podar International School #Udupi conducted a vaccination drive for our students.
Two well practiced nurses from the Primary Health Centre, Manipal, with multiple years of experience visited our school premises and administered the TD Vaccination.
Culminating Event 'Marvellous Me - Grade 1' - 2025
Our Grade 1 students embarked on an exciting 4-week Thematic Unit, 'Marvellous Me', designed to foster a deeper understanding of self, family, and school through engaging activities and discussions.

Jumpstart 'Savour, Save, Sustain' - 2025
A vibrant Jumpstart Activity was conducted on 18th July 2025 across Grades 1 to 8.
The theme encourages students to reflect on mindful consumption, food habits, and sustainability.
The activity was a perfect spark to initiate conversations around these essential ideas.
Each grade participated in a thoughtfully crafted prompt suited to their age level:
- Grade 1 and 2 explored food items starting with the letter G – from grapes to ghee and green peas, their responses were full of excitement and variety.
- Grade 3 and 4 reflected on the colours of the food they ate yesterday, linking the concept of colourful food to a balanced and nutritious diet.
- Grade 5 and 6 shared about their favourite food, connecting emotions, family traditions, and taste in their responses.
- Grade 7 and 8 offered thoughtful reflections on why eating healthy food is important, touching on topics such as physical health, mental well-being, and energy for daily activities.
After sharing their ideas, students wrote their responses on colourful post-it notes and proudly pasted them on designated display boards in their classrooms or corridors.
The activity wasn’t just an icebreaker—it served as a platform to build awareness, express ideas, and visually celebrate the beginning of a purposeful journey into sustainable living and mindful eating.
Solo Dance Competition - 2025
Podar International School Udupi held a Solo Dance Competition for all grades.
The students got an opportunity to showcase their wonderful dance skills in front of their peers and a panel of judges.
The competition was divided into 3 categories: Classical, Folk and Contemporary.
We were very happy to see the student participate wholeheartedly in the competition.
Bus Evacuation Drill - 2025
Podar International School #Udupi conducted a Bus Evacuation Drill for allstudent from Pre-Primary to Secondary grades!!
The main aim for this drill was to give students hands-on practice of what steps are to be taken at the time of any emergency and not just theoretical instructions.
The students were shown the emergency exit, how to wait for transportation didi's to give instructions, the dos and don'ts at the time, how to de-board the bus appropriately and so on!
Culminating Event 'Media Unmasked - Adfluence' - 2025
Students of Podar International School Udupi brought their learning to life through a lively culminating event titled “Media Unmasked.”
The event featured a series of creative stalls, planned and conducted by the students.
At the “Know Your Ad Gurus” stall, visitors discovered interesting facts about famous advertising pioneers and their groundbreaking campaigns, learning how creative minds shape the ads we see every day.
The Experience Stalls provided a unique platform for students to share their personal journey in the ILP (Integrated Learning Programme) classes.
Through informal interactions and conversations, they spoke about the skills they learned, activities they enjoyed, and how the programme helped them grow in confidence and creativity.
The Game Stalls offered fun quizzes and activities to test visitors’ knowledge of advertising, slogans, and media literacy, combining learning with play.
At the Social Media Awareness Stall, students spread the important message of safe and responsible use of social media through discussions and thought-provoking facts, encouraging everyone to think before they click.
“Media Unmasked” was a true celebration of student voice, teamwork, and awareness — giving everyone a chance to look beyond the screen and hear directly from the young minds behind it.

Transport Committee Meeting - 2025
Podar International School Udupi conducted their bi-annual transportation committee meeting.
The committee includes our respected Principal Ma'am Ms. Netra H, Administrative Officer Mr. Anilkumar, Transport Supervisor Mr. Nagesh, Regional Transportation Manager Mr. Vijay KP, and representatives from the parent body.
The meeting discussed topics like bus maintenance, didi and driver training, regular alcohol tests, bus routes, and various topics that pertain with the safe traveling of the students.
We were very happy witnessing the smooth workings of the committee to come together for the wellbeing of the students.
Teacher's Counselling - 2025
Podar International School Udupi held a counseling session for the teachers.
The session was conducted by our in-house Counselor who is tasked with providing mental health support to students and staff alike.
As we give mental health top priority at Podar International School #Udupi, it is important for our teachers to revise and refresh their IEC, Inclusive Education Cell, training, which dictates that every child has the right to education regardless of the abilities, background, or differences.
The session reinforced the knowledge that every child is different especially in the cases of Special needs students.
They learn differently, speak differently, behave uniquely and the attitude and acceptance of the teachers towards these students are directly picked up by other students.
A safe and nurturing classroom is a sight to behold and every child has a right to experience it.
Height and Weight Check - 2025
At Podar International School Udupi we do not just want our students to excel academically but we also put a strong emphasis on health and development.
Our school nurse Ms. Sandra and PT Sir Mr. Sangamesh, conduct height and weight checks at the start and end of every school year to keep an accurate track of every child's growth.
This information gives us a proper understanding of the child's needs and where we can help the child in their physical well-being.
ILP House Competition 'Billboard Battle for Wildlife Conservation' - 2025
At Podar International School Udupi, the ILP House Competition took a creative and meaningful turn with the Billboard Battle on the theme “Conservation of Wildlife.”
Each house namely: AQUA, TERRA, IGNIS, and VENTUS, showcased its commitment to protecting nature through powerful, visually striking billboards that delivered strong environmental messages.
Students used bold slogans, impactful imagery, and thoughtful designs to spread awareness about the urgent need to conserve wildlife.
From protecting endangered species to preserving natural habitats, the boards reflected deep awareness and a sense of responsibility.
This event was more than just a display of talent — it was a call to action.
Through this creative battle, the students reminded everyone that every voice counts in the fight to save our planet’s wildlife.
Youth Parliament - 2025
Podar International School Udupi conducted a Youth Parliament to Empower Students in Democratic Dialogue!!
In a vibrant display of civic engagement and democratic spirit, students were offered a platform to emulate real parliamentary procedures and voice their opinions on contemporary issues.
The event began with a formal Call to Order by the Speaker, followed by Roll Call, Oath-taking Ceremony, and a ceremonial address by the Youth Prime Minister.
The highlight of the session was the debate on the Rs.15 per child budget allocated for Independence Day celebrations, where student members passionately argued whether the amount was adequate and how it could be better utilized.
The mock parliamentary proceedings also featured a Question Hour, Zero Hour, and the introduction of a Budget Motion, followed by a spirited debate and voting session.
Members showcased critical thinking, persuasive communication, and an understanding of constitutional values throughout the session.
The Youth Speaker ensured discipline and order while guiding the house through various stages of the session, closely resembling actual Indian parliamentary decorum.
The Secretary-General led the oath-taking with solemn dignity, instilling a sense of responsibility in all participants.
Principal Ms. Netra H commended the efforts of students and staff, stating, “The Youth Parliament is not just an activity; it’s an education in leadership, discipline, governance, and democratic values. Our students are the leaders of tomorrow, and today they have proven their readiness.”
The event concluded with resolutions being passed and a formal adjournment of the House, leaving both participants and audience inspired and enlightened.

The students of Podar International School Udupi conducted a special IE assembly on the theme Media Unmasked.
This special assembly was a platform to honor the Nations advertising geniuses and reminisce on the National phenomenon they created with their catchy ad plots and jingles.

Our wonderful Yoga teacher Ms. Shilpa Naik took the staff on a journey of mindful meditation, muscle relaxing Yogasanas, and refreshing Pranayamas!!
Our Yoga teacher, and PE Sir Mr. Sangamesh then conducted an immersive and engaging yoga session, teaching students the different Yogasanas, Pranayamas, and warm up exercises!
She gave the students a step by step tutorial on the right sequences and methods of doing Yoga and encouraged students to inculcate these techniques into their daily life!!
First Parent-Teacher Association Meeting 2025-2026
Podar International School #Udupi held their PTA formation session today.
PTA is a very important body of Parents and Teachers who come together to plan, discuss and execute school events in an effort to better the educational and cultural experience of students.
The elected members of the Academic Year 25-26 are : Chairperson - Respected Principal Ms. Netra H, Vice chairperson - Rapelli Anusha , Secretary - Sushma Naragund, Joint Secretary - Jyothi C A, Treasurer - Ranajit Das.

Teachers of Podar International School Udupi attended the "Educators Toolbox : Designing, Managing, and Inspiring the future classrooms" workshop conducted by Podar International School Mangalore.
The workshop was conducted by Ms. Yamini Saliyan, Manager - Internal Development Team, Podar Innovation Centre.
The workshop is a part of the "Continuous Professional Development Programme" under the Podar Innovation Centre.
Overview of points covered:
- how teachers can engage students and face push-back in a calm manner
- how they can make lessons more interactive and interesting
- how the lesson plans can blend student interest with the current curriculum
- things to take care of when paper corrections are going on, and so on.
These programmes are a very important tool to upgrade teaching style, improve classroom environment and teacher-student interactions.
Yoga Session for Teachers and Staff - 2025
Podar International School Udupi has introduced a new initiative of having yoga sessions for teaching and non teaching staff!
This initiative reflects our ideology of mental and physical well being at the foremost for not only students but also the staff members!
The session started off with warm up exercises and trasitioned into more specific yoga assans to target specific issues raised by our staff members like back pain, knee pain, headache, weightloss and so on.
The session came to an end with pranayam exercises.
The staff members enjoyed the session and encouraged to have these sessions regularly to cope with busy schedules!

Our Cheif Guest CA Gopala Krishna Bhat - CEO of Trisha Group of Institutions, Respected Principal Ma'am Ms. Netra H, Administrative Officer Mr. Anilkumar, Headmistress Ms. Geetha L Poojary, and teachers inducted our Council Leaders into the Student Council into various positions like Head Boy, Head Girl, School Captain, Sports Captain, Cultural Captain, and so on!
With the dignitaries blessings we took this opportunity and honoured our 24-25 Grade X topper G Avni Prabhu, after which the Ceremony moved on to the main event.
The student body leaders, selected by their peers were inducted to the Student Council and took an oath to serve the Student body through the school year!

Podar International School #Udupi conducted Student Council Elections!!
Children of grades V - X voted with gusto to make their voices and choices heard in the elections organised in school.
The positions of Head Boy, Head Girl, School Captain, and so on were on the ballot.
Teachers and admin staff also took part in the election process to choose the best candidate that will work in the favor of our wonderful students.
We are proud to see our students take the election process seriously and uphold the standards we have set for them.
House Selection 2025-2026
Podar International School Udupi conducted a House Selection process for all students.
Students were sorted into ther respective houses of Terra, Ventura, Ignis and Aqua.
These houses are their family for the year. The students' Achievements (academic and non-academic) will gain their house points and help them to the top position.
Sorting students into various houses gives rise to teamwork, healthy competition and will give the students the opportunity to work with students other than their own classmates.
World Environment Day - 2025
Podar International School #Udupi celebrated World Environment Day!!!
The theme of this year's Environment Day is "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0 — Plant Trees, Honor Mothers, Beat Plastic Pollution, and Spread Green Awareness Together!"
At the morning assembly, Our students took a Pledge to be more environmentally conscious!
Our kannada teacher then addressed the assembly and gave a speech on how we should respect and protect our environment.
A poster making competition was also held to encourage students to think about climate change, environmental sustainability and changes we can make to preserve and protect the environment.
A plantation drive was also held were students were encouraged to donate plants to the school which the students later planted in the school grounds.
Talent Show - 2025

Podar International School #Udupi conducted Talent Show for grades I - X in an effort to encourage our students!!
Students took the stage to showcase their multitude of talents like singing, dancing, martial arts and so on!!
Every child is unique and special and our aim is to highlight what makes each person unique!
Jumpstart Event 'Media Unmasked' - 2025
The corridors of PIS Udupi were buzzing with excitement as the jumpstart activity under the Integrated learning program theme "Media Unmasked" kickstarted with much enthusiasm among the students.
Students were assigned the task to identify whether they can “See”, “Read”, or “Listen” to certain media.
Under the guidance of Respected Principal Ma'am Ms. Netra H, and the teachers, students studied the theme and participated in the assigned tasks completing it efficiently while gaining hands on experience about the theme.

Podar International School Udupi welcomes our students back to school!!
Falling back into our routine was an easy task.
Our day started off the Podar way, with a Welcome Back assembly.
Our respected Principal Ma'am Ms. Netra H got the morning rolling by engaging the students and asking them about their vacation.
The assembly then transitioned into a detailed overview of school rules and expectations from students.
Principal ma'am also encouraged the students to enjoy their school life along with concentrating on education.
The assembly concluded by praying to the almighty and singing the National anthem.
Teacher's Workshop 'Teaching with Integrity, Discipline and Professionalism' - 2025
Podar International School Udupi conducted a teachers workshop on the topic "Upholding Discipline, and Professionalism in Education".
The workshop started off with seeking divine blessings after which the teachers were addressed by our respected Principal Ms. Netra H, Administrative Officer Mr Anilkumar, and Podar Prep Headmistress Ms. Geetha L. Poojary.
The workshop was conducted by Shri. Satheesh H.L., Freelance Educational Facilitator.
He discussed important topics like Self-Awareness, Professional Development of Teachers, Code of Ethics for Teachers and much more.
Transport, Housekeeping, and Security Staff Training and Fire Drill - 2025
Podar International School #Udupi conducted a Transport, HouseKeeping, and Security Staff Training and Fire Drill on 21 May 2025, in preparation of the new Academic Year.
Here at Podar International School #Udupi safety of students, teachers, parents and staff is given highest priority and training sessions relating to health, safety and fire are a mandatory part of our protocol.
Our Respected Principal Ma'am Ms. Netra, Administrative Officer Mr. Anil Kumar, Headmistress of Podar Prep Ms. Geetha, and Transport Supervisor Mr. Nagesh discussed topics ranging from good touch - bad touch, interactions with parent and ward, student pick-up and drop-off protocols, how to use safety equipment efficiently, and crisis management.
Our staff are trained to take action in any situation, as every moment during an emergency can be crucial.

The workshop on ‘Implementing and Delivering Outstanding Lessons’ was conducted at Podar International School, Udupi, by Ms. Netra H, Principal of the school.
The session aimed to enhance teaching practices and elevate classroom effectiveness.
It began with an interactive ice-breaker activity, fostering comfort and engagement among participants.
The workshop focused on using observation forms to improve lesson planning, emphasizing the importance of student-centric approaches, interactive strategies, and active student involvement.
Key elements of outstanding teaching—such as creating a positive learning environment, engaging students meaningfully, and providing timely feedback—were discussed.
The session concluded with teachers sharing ideas and setting professional goals for the Academic Year 2025–26.
Parent Orientation Programme 'Grade 1 to 9' 2025-2026
Podar International School #Udupi conducted Parent Orientation Programme, on 17th May 2025.
The programme started off with invoking divine blessings and a beautiful musical rendition by our very own teachers.
Our Respected Principal Ma'am Ms. Netra H, then addressed the parents and thanked them all, for their hearty interest in attending school programmes which ensures smooth functioning of all aspects of the school. She also conveyed the importance of school held programmes and how they help in fostering healthy Parent-Teacher relations.
Parent Orientation Programme is a very important event at the start of the school year, as it sets the tone for the coming year. All the prevalent topics were discussed with input and questions from parents.
Topics like transportation services provided, curriculum followed, canteen services provided, Teacher - Parent communication, and so on were discussed over the day.
We were very glad to see such a robust turnout at the event for the betterment of the children.

The programme started off with seeking blessings, in the form of an intimate Saraswati Pooja.
Respected Principal Ma'am Ms. Netra H then took the dias and welcomed all the teachers back. On the agenda were topics like class teacher allocation, leadership team allocation, events to look forward this academic year, Parents Orientation Programme and so on.
Community Outreach 'Spectrum Pulse - An Evening with Podar' - 2025
Podar International School #Udupi conducted Spectrum Pulse – An Evening with Podar on 5th May 2025, which was an evening filled with games for children and parents, coloring and drawing competitions and much more.
This was an innovative way to increase community outreach and spread awareness about Podars’ teaching and learning methodologies.
The event was a success and helped get the word of Mouth out about Podar in the local community.
Open House ‘Grade I - VII’ - 2025
Podar International School Udupi conducted end of the year Open House for students of grade I - VII on 5th April 2025.
Open house is an opportunity to offer a valuable insight into the students’ academic life and to foster positive relationships with our students’ families and to showcase the excellent work being done in our classrooms.
Conducting Open House at regular intervals communicates that parents and School work in sync for the betterment of the students.
Teachers Training 'CBSE-COE-CBP - Active Learning' - 2025
Podar International School Udupi organised CBSE COE Capacity Building Programme, with the theme being "Active Learning" on 29th March 2025.
The event was conducted by our respected resource persons Mr. Suresh M Mahalingapur and Ms. Neha NM, who went through an extensive list of Engaging tactics for active learning, training for designing effective active learning plan and also received a live demonstration on the effectiveness of active learning.
We would like to thank Our Principal Sir for organising the event, the resource persons for taking the time and sharing their knowledge, and finally all the teachers who attended the Training Programme for their outstanding and willing participation.
School Fire Evacuation and Mock Drill - 2025
The final fire drill of AY 24-25 was conducted at Podar International School Udupi at March 8, 2025.
All of the students, teachers, non-teaching staff, and contract employees (HK and Transport) gather at the specified fire evacuation assembly site as soon as the brass bell rings at 11:05 AM and the evacuation took 2 minutes and 45 seconds.
The Fire Drill demonstration was carried out with the assistance of the fire department, Ajjarkadu Udupi.
All of the staff members and students who had gathered at the fire evacuation point were led to the school playground, where the fire demonstration was set up. Mr. Ravindra sir, the fire officer, briefed the crowd on safety precautions and the specifications of fire extinguishers, and the fire crew also performed a demonstration.
At last, the Principal Sir honored the firefighting team officers with the greeting card showing our appreciation.
Podar Volunteer Program 'Visit to Swargashrama, Kollalgiri' - 2025
On 1st March 2025, the students of Grade V-VIII, participated in a donation drive under the Podar Volunteer Programme at the local retirement home, Swargashrama.
Together they donated essential items like stationary, groceries, fruits, and food to those in need.
These initiatives not only instill a sense of community and charity in our students from a young age, but they also bring a smile to the faces of the recipients who are in great need of our help and support.

House Competition 'Debate competition under Integrated Learning Program, Theme 4 - Migration Chronicles' - 2025
Under the Integrated learning program theme The Migration Chronicles Debate Competition was held at Podar international school Udupi bringing together eloquent speakers to discuss the complexities of migration in today’s world. It aimed to foster critical thinking, persuasive communication, and a deeper understanding of migration’s social, economic, and political implications.
The competition followed a structured debating format, with teams arguing for and against thought-provoking motions related to migration.
Participants presented compelling data and real-life examples to support their positions.
Class Party 2024-2025
On the 28th of February, Students of Grade I - IX had an amazing end of the year class party organised by teachers and staff!
Every class was decorated and filled with students dressed up for the occasion, games, Dance, talent show and lots of amazing food!!
Our beloved Principal Sir participated in many activities and also cut cake in each class, to the delight of each and every student!
The end of the year Class Party signified the end of a fruitful year and ushering in of the new academic year.
Special Assembly 'Science Day Celebration' - 2025
On the 28th of February, the students of Podar presented a spectacular assembly on the occasion of Science Day.
The assembly was filled with scientific information, experiments and explanations of scientific facts that not only entertained us and peaked our curiosity but also educated us on various scientific phenomena!!
The students of Podar have theoretical knowledge of concepts but also engage in demonstrations, activities and experiments as a way to increase engagement, understanding and improve critical thinking.
Celebrating Science Day is an opportunity to bring out the names of scientists who have made great contributions to Science and thus forever changing our lives!
Special Assembly under the Integrated Learning Programme 'The Great Migration Chronicles' - 2025
On 14th February 2025, students celebrated a special assembly on the theme Migration Chronicles Exploring Journeys of Adaptation and Integration with the topic as “The Great Migration Adventure”, on which the students performed a skit at Podar International School - Udupi.
The assembly was conducted to learn and understand more about how migration brings diversity, enriches community, promotes acceptance and understanding within the community. The characters in the skit come together after overcoming prejudice through communication in an effort to understand each other and find the positives within every community.
The skit focused on various aspects like the reasons for migration, the challenges migrants face, and their contributions to society.
Teachers Training 'CBSE-COE-CBP - Use of Artificial Intelligence in the Classroom' - 2025
On 8th February 2025, we conducted a Capacity Building Programme - For Teachers on the topic "Use of Artificial Intelligence in the Classroom".
Our valuable resource persons Mr. Bhujanga P Shetty, Principal of Sri Lakshmi Janardhana International School, Belman, Udupi and Ms. Radha Prabhu, Principal N.A.A.M school, Nitte, Udupi gave a detailed presentation on how to use Artificial Intelligence to enhance their teaching capabilities and the understanding of the students.
The Programme included games and activities to engage and illustrate the various topics covered. At the end of the session the floor was opened for Q&A's.
Art'Spiration ‘Annual Art and Science Exhibition’ - 2025
On 7th February 2025, Podar International School Udupi organised our mega-event of the year, the “Art'Spiration”, which was a unique blend of Art, Science and Culture.
The students, parents and teachers were mesmerised by the hardworking put in by each student into their Art work and science projects.
The cultural event that included a ILP - Voices across Borders - Migration themed fashion show, where students and their families took the stage to display the culture of their region. Dance and song filled the evening and the event was brought to an end with an amazing fashion show by our amazing Teachers.
Class X Farewell 2024-2025
Upkeeping with tradition, on 4th February, students of grade IX organised a spectacular farewell event for their seniors.
Filled with pageantry and pomp, the students of Grade X were ushered into the venue under the shower of flowers and then walked on a red carpet.
After seeking blessings from the Goddess, the festivities began in earnest, starting off with a dance performance by grade IX.
As the evening went on, we were brought to tears between speeches given by our senior most students, and couldn't stop crying tears of joy when their emotional speeches took a hilarious turn.
Grade X students were wholeheartedly touched by the gesture and did not miss the opportunity to thank their class teacher as the event came to an end.
Republic Day Celebration - 2025
Podar International School Udupi celebrated the 76th Republic Day with great enthusiasm. The morning event began with "Vijayi Vishwa Tiranga Pyara" and the National Anthem.
Following a sentimental flag hoisting ceremony, the students put up a skit teaching us about our all-encompassing Constitution and how it came into being. A well-performed dance performance entertained everyone present.
Our dear Principal Sir addressed the students and shared his thoughts about the day and how we should be proud to have an all-inclusive and well-thought-out Constitution, making it one of the longest Constitutions in the world.
Jumpstart Activity 'Migration Chronicles Theme 4' - 2025
On 20th January 2025, students of classes 1 to 8 conducted a Jumpstart Activity for the Integrated Learning Programme: Theme 4: Migration Chronicles – Exploring Journeys of Adaptation and Integration. The theme, ‘Migration Chronicles,’ focuses on making the students more aware of how people move, why they move, and how it affects people's lives, societies, and even communities.
The students were given a post-it each and, grade-wise, were asked to pen down where they would like to migrate to, what is the one reason they chose their destination, and what they would carry in their bags while migrating.
Culminating Event 'Design Kaleidoscope - Pattern Prism - theme 3' - 2025
Culminating Event was held at the school premises themed “Design Kaleidoscope: Unveiling the Power of Patterns”.
Our Integrated Learning Programme theme "PATTERN PRISM" culminated at the event that showcased the creativity and knowledge of our students. Throughout the module, students explored patterns in both nature and human-made structures, gaining a deeper understanding of the world around us.
The students participated in rangoli making and notice board decorating competitions according to their respective houses.
Students worked enthusiastically to prepare and present their knowledge, building their confidence as effective communicators.
School Fire Evacuation and Mock Drill - 2025
On 16th January 2025, students, teachers, admin staff, and support staff alike participated in the Fire Safety and Preparedness Mock Drill conducted at the school grounds under the supervision of our respected Principal Sir. The drill, part of our School Fire Evacuation Plan, involved multiple teams, including Fire Fighting, Fire Alarm, Search and Rescue, First Aid, and Evacuation teams.
The highlights of the drill were Evacuation protocols, simulation exercises, headcount and reporting, and time benchmark. The entire simulation was successfully completed in the targeted time period, matching our previous record. This exercise demonstrates our commitment to ensuring the safety and preparedness of both students and staff.
Special assembly and Activity 'Makar Sankranti' - 2025
On 14th January 2025, the students had a special assembly on the occasion of Makar Sankranti. The students were dressed in traditional clothing and got the opportunity to perform a dance and song for the occasion. They also provided information on the significance of the festival and how it is celebrated in Karnataka.
The students were given the opportunity to experience the traditional art of kite flying, which is a staple of the festival.
Podar Volunteer Program 'Road Safety Week' - 2025
On 13th January 2025, 100+ students of grades V, VI, and VII participated in the Road Safety Week in association with the Udupi Police under the Podar Volunteer Program. The program is a way to get students involved in social, environmental, health, and safety issues from an early age so they can continue being more in tune with their community.
They also incorporated the message of safe social media usage in times of emergency. The students put on skits and mime performances to send the message more effectively.
Teachers Training 'CBSE-COE-CBP - Learning Outcomes and Pedagogies' - 2025
On 11th January 2025, we conducted a Capacity Building Programme for Teachers on the topic "Learning Outcomes & Pedagogies".
Our presenters, Mr. Vasant Bhat, Principal, Sriniketana School, Sirsi, Uttar Kannada, and Ms. Shilpa Moger, Vice Principal, Manipal School, Attavar - Mangalore, gave a detailed presentation on how to frame, achieve, and evaluate Learning Outcomes based on Bloom's Taxonomy.
The programme included games and activities to engage and illustrate the various topics covered. At the end of the session, the floor was opened for Q&A.
Clay Karts under the Integrated Learning Program, theme 3 - Pattern Prism - 2025
On 8th January 2025, students of grades V - VIII were taken to “Clay Karts”, a local pottery destination. The students got an opportunity to get an up-close and personal look into one of the world's oldest art forms and professions - pottery. The trip gave the students a better understanding of the words “hand-crafted” and allowed them to see and personally experience the amount of hard work that goes into making each item.
Salumarada Thimmakka 'Tree Park under the Integrated Learning Program, theme 3 - Pattern Prism' - 2025
On 8th January 2025, students of grades I - IV were taken for a field trip to one of Udupi's most unique parks “Salumarada Thimmakka” tree park. The students enjoyed a walk through nature and observed unrecognized patterns in their surroundings. The students also got an opportunity to play at the park and have snacks outdoors giving them a refreshing break from routine.
House Competition 'Poetry Slam under Integrated Learning Program, theme 3 - Pattern Prism' - 2025
We conducted an inter-house poetry slam competition under the Integrated Learning Programme, Theme 3 - Pattern Prism.
The event was an opportunity for the students to display their oratory skills with their peers as an audience. The students recited various well-known poems, and some students also took the opportunity to share their self-penned work. Such competitions held at regular intervals give our students a stage to grow their public speaking skills, confidence, and self-expression.
Annual Day Celebration 2024-2025
Podar International School-Udupi celebrated their Annual Day on 23rd December 2024. The theme of the Annual Day was “The Friendship Code”.
The event began with invoking the blessings of God by lighting a lamp and prayer, after which our Chief Guests Dr. Gananth Yekkar, Retired State NSS Officer and Ex-officio Joint Secretary to Govt., Udupi, Guest of Honor - Shri Mithun H N, IPS Superintendent of Police, Coastal Security Police, Malpe, Udupi, and our dear respected Principal Shri Udayakumar A.N. addressed the audience with their valuable thoughts and took the opportunity to felicitate the academic achievements of our top student followed by a welcome dance.
From the Prep students (Nursery, Junior KG, and Senior KG) highlighting the various traditions, cultures, and rich history of storytelling under the theme “Kahani aur Kala ka Utsav Jumbo ke Sang” in our mixing pot jewel of a nation, to our students from Grade 1 to 10 highlighting the theme “The Friendship Code” with a well-thought-out and presented skit. The evening also dealt with the very prevalent topic of peer pressure through a powerful mime act.
Christmas Celebration - 2024
Christmas was celebrated at Podar International School Udupi on 20th December, with fervor, song and dance.
The festive season was kicked off with the arrival of Santa Claus and his happy elves at the morning assembly. The students of Podar delighted in their presence which was accompanied with dance performances from students of class 1 and 2 and a medley of Christmas carols sung by our senior most students. Our Principal also embraced the festive mood donning a Christmas hat and addressed the students conveying his thoughts and wishes.
Vaccine Drive - 2024
Vaccine drive was held on 14th December 2024, at Podar International School Udupi. Experienced nursing staff from Primary Health Center, Manipal donated their time to come to our school campus and conduct the drive.
Vaccinations are an integral part of disease prevention that help keep us healthy and increase our auto-immune responses to potential disease-causing viruses and bacteria.
Regular vaccinations are aimed to keep not only our students healthy but are an integral part of community health and safety initiatives.
Open House - 2024
Open House was held on 14th December, at Podar International School Udupi for grades 1-8.
The event was a great success with a very enthusiastic participation from the parents. The event provided a platform for open communication between parents and teachers to discuss the students' progress. Open House events are great opportunities for parents and teachers to have a one-on-one about the students and their various aspects of development (Mental, academics, behavioral, etc.) in a way that is difficult during the continuation of the term.
The students also get a chance to put forth their thoughts and feelings about various areas of their ongoing academic performance, personal life and so on, in a safe way.
Annual Sports Day Celebration 2024-2025
Podar International School Udupi celebrated its Annual Sports Meet 2024 with great enthusiasm at the Mahatma Gandhi District Stadium in Ajjarkad. The event was held on 15 November 2024 and brought together students, parents, staff, and distinguished guests for a day of energy, sportsmanship, and unity.
The event commenced with the arrival of Chief Guest Dr. Ramachandra Patkar and featured a march past, guard of honor, and torch lighting ceremony. The cultural event included a musical performance, and speeches by the Chief Guest and Principal emphasized the importance of sports in shaping character and building teamwork.

Children's Day Celebration - 2024
Podar International School, Udupi, celebrated Children's Day on November 14, 2024, with a heartwarming event that brought joy and excitement to both students and teachers. The celebrations began with teachers welcoming students with colorful crowns, adding a special touch to the day.

Podar Smart Tour 'Shimoga' - 2024
An unforgettable adventure for our students of Podar International School Udupi! The Podar Smart Tour took grades 6-10 on an exciting overnight trip to Shimoga on 6th-7th November 2024.
Highlights included exploring the Amulya Shodha Museum, enjoying the Lion Safari & Zoo, getting up close with elephants at Sakrebailu Elephant Camp, and soaking in the beauty of Jog Falls. A perfect blend of fun, learning, and nature!

Podarites Shine at ARTIFEX: A Day of Creativity and Fun - 2024
The Podarites had an absolute blast at ARTIFEX, the vibrant cultural fest organized by the animation department of MIC!
The workshops and classes conducted by the MIC students were not only extremely informative but also engaging, encouraging each child to step forward and explore the fascinating world of Animation. Our young creatives were thoroughly inspired!
To top it off, the winners of the drawing competition held in our school were announced, adding an extra layer of excitement to the day.

Under the captivating theme of "I Am Alive," our curious Grade II students embarked on an unforgettable adventure to explore the wonders of their bodies, the magic of water, and the power of food in staying healthy!
Throughout this unit, they engaged in hands-on activities that sparked their imagination and deepened their understanding of these essential life elements. From solving brain-teasing worksheets to participating in lively group discussions and creative tasks, every child played an active role in meaningful learning experiences that were both educational and fun!

Podar Volunteer Program: Spreading Gratitude and Joy! - 2024
On October 23rd, 2024, Grade 6, 7, and 8 students from the Podar Volunteer Program visited Ajjarkadu Hospital to express their gratitude to healthcare workers.
The students shared heartfelt gratitude cards and thanked the doctors for their dedication to the community’s well-being.
This gesture of kindness was a wonderful example of empathy and compassion in action. We are proud of our students for taking the initiative to honor these unsung heroes. ‘The Experimentarium - Perspectives in STEM, STEAM, and LOGIC!’ - 2024
The little scientists of Podar International School Udupi enjoyed the wonders of science through the special feature ‘The Experimentarium - Perspectives in STEM, STEAM, and LOGIC!’
The two days of the experimentarium provided an enriching experience to the students. The classrooms were bubbling with excitement as the students performed hands-on experiments to navigate scientific concepts like density, the effect of pressure on density, the three states of matter, Newtonian and Non-Newtonian fluids and many others using the STEAM approach to learning.
These activities and experiments provoked the young minds to think creatively and approach science with renewed zeal and enthusiasm.

Podar International School Udupi celebrated the Dussehra festival on 14 October 2024 with vibrant festivities. The day began with inspiring words from our principal, Mr. Udaykumara A N, during the first assembly of Term II. We were honored to welcome Mr. Raj Hulamani, principal of PIS Belgaum.
Students showcased their talent with a lively Tiger dance and energetic garba, highlighting our rich culture and unity. It was a memorable day filled with joy.
Gandhiji and Shastriji Jayanti Celebration - 2024
On October 2, 2024, Podar International School proudly celebrated Gandhi Jayanti, honoring the legacies of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri. The day was marked by heartfelt tributes to these influential leaders, alongside soulful renditions of their favorite bhajans, including "Vaishnav Jan To" and "Raghupati Raghav."
In addition to the musical tributes, the school organized a dedicated Swachhata Abhiyan to promote cleanliness and instill core values among students. This initiative not only emphasized the importance of hygiene but also aligned with Gandhi's vision of a clean and healthy society.
The celebrations served as a poignant reminder of the ideals upheld by Gandhiji and Shastri, inspiring students to embody these values in their daily lives.
Tuberculosis Awareness Session - 2024
A Tuberculosis Awareness Session was successfully held on 12th September 2024 at Podar International School, Udupi, led by a team of doctors from Kasturba Medical College (KMC), Manipal. The session aimed to educate the school community about TB symptoms, prevention, and treatment, emphasizing the importance of early detection and healthcare collaboration. Teacher's Day Celebration - 2024
Our Teachers' Day celebration on September 5 was a memorable event. The day began with a lamp-lighting ceremony and a tribute to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, led by Principal Mr. Udayakumara A.N. and the teaching staff. The event included recognition of our teachers Ms. Sandra, Mr. Rizwan, and Ms. Divya for five years of loyal service, and special awards were presented to Mr. Mansur Ali A. and Ms. Navya G.K. as the Most Dedicated Teachers of AY 2023-24. The students, guided by Head Girl Miss Aiza Rida and Cultural Captain Miss Sidra Fatima, organized a variety of cultural activities and fun games, celebrating the dedication and hard work of our educators.
Plastic Game Changers - 2024
Our “Plastic Game Changers” event took place on August 31. Students from Grades I to X participated in this insightful event designed to educate them about the impact of plastic on the environment. The event featured various stalls where students presented their projects on topics such as the History of Plastic, the Kitchen Sink Example, and the 8 R’s of plastic management. Interactive games, a Parent’s Pledge Wall, and a music corner made the event engaging and educational. The day showcased our students' creativity and commitment to environmental sustainability.

On August 30, Podar International School, Udupi held a House competition on the theme "Plastic plastic everywhere breaking the plastic spell".
Grade I to IV created upcycled plastic items using recycled plastic bottles.
Grade V to VIII prepared eco bricks using recycled plastic bottles.
Students of grade VI to VIII surveyed the plastic used in the classroom and staff room suggesting the replacement options and frequency of usage.

On August 31, we held an Open House meeting for Grade I and II. On August 24, the AICS Principals' Meeting was held at our school. Field Trip to Waste Management Facility - 2024
Students from Grades 1 to 8 went on a field trip to the Waste Management facility in Beedinagudde on August 23. The visit was part of our Integrated Learning program themed "Plastic Plastic Everywhere." Students learned about single-use and reusable plastics, their environmental impacts, and alternative solutions for a greener future. Fire Mock Drill - 2024
Our Fire Mock Drill conducted on August 20 was a significant success.
The drill, part of our School Fire Evacuation Plan, involved multiple teams, including Fire Fighting, Fire Alarm, Search and Rescue, First Aid, and Evacuation teams. All students were evacuated in a record time of 2 minutes and 50 seconds, surpassing our targeted evacuation time of 3 minutes. This exercise demonstrates our commitment to ensuring the safety and preparedness of both students and staff.

Podar International School, Udupi, recently conducted a JUMPSTART activity themed ‘Plastic Plastic Everywhere!’ focusing on breaking the plastic spell. Investiture Ceremony 2024-2025
Podar International School Udupi hosted an Investiture Ceremony on 8th July 2024. The programme witnessed the presence of Shri S.T Siddalingappa, Additional Superintendent of Police, Udupi, as the esteemed Chief Guest. The programme began with a prayer song followed by lighting the lamp. The newly elected council leaders were honoured with badges, sashes, and certificates by the Chief Guest and Principal Sir. The Principal, Mr. Udayakumar A N, administered the oath for the council leaders.
The Chief Guest addressed the children with motivational words and highlighted the importance of democracy. The Principal encouraged the children to inculcate discipline, leadership, positive thinking, and helping others in their daily life. The event was marked by a spirit of honor and leadership, underscored by Principal Mr. Udayakumar A N's guidance. The students performed a mesmerizing cultural programme. The ceremony aimed to inspire and empower future leaders, emphasizing values beyond academics.
